Honestly, not much. If anything, we simply wished we had booked a longer stay to enjoy more of the peace, comfort, and outstanding hospitality.

What isn’t there to like about Fossil Farms Oceanside Retreat? From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations — spotless, beautifully designed accommodations, thoughtful touches everywhere, and warm, welcoming hosts who made us feel at home. The highlight was the delectable seven-course dinner, each dish a work of art bursting with local flavour. Comfort, charm, and incredible food all in one perfect stay — we can’t wait to return!

The cottage was even better then the photos! Spotless and felt very high end! They had everything we could possibly want for our stay, and the thoughtfulness put into the little details did not go unnoticed. For example, they had prepackaged totes at the sauna so we knew exactly how much to put in. Coffee beans with instructions on how to make the perfect cup. A fun passport of things for us to do while on the property. Wish we could have stayed longer!

A nice, clean room with everything we needed for a comfortable nights rest...the coffee and honey were nice touches as were the crisps! We booked the evening meal, the dining area is lovely and the staff where really friendly. We enjoyed the first course, the second was not to our taste, the third pasta and mushroom dish was very tasty, the fourth lamb dish was only just warm but tasty. For us the dishes where far to long in between but the rest of the diners seemed to enjoy it so this is just our opinion. The serving staff were lovely and the wine very good.

The murphy bed was not overly comfortable but it was okay. Make sure to stock up on food before you arrive.

The property is very peaceful and we enjoyed walking about. Feeding the goats was a highlight. The cottage was well equiped, spacious, and clean. The jar with fresh ground local coffee and the gift of honey right from the farm were nice touches.

The animals, kayaks, and the quiet accommodations. We cooked a meal and had everything we needed in the kitchen. It was a clean cabin. The staff were very friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This property is gorgeous. Rolling hills with vineyards, gardens, and a farm. We really enjoyed the sauna and pool and spent a lot of time there. We also ate a meal at the restaurant-it there’s one on offer while you’re staying there, don’t miss it-it’s a real farm to table treat. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.

This property is stunning, our cabin was beautiful, well equipped, great bed, comfortable furniture. View was beautiful, looking over a lake. Everything you need is there and we were able to partake in the 7 course meal in the restaurant, the meal was like a Michelin chef preparing it for us. Service was amazing. Oh and the sheep and goats are fun to watch!! One of the owners is Dean Roberson, so welcoming and his staff are wonderful!

Hard to find anything to suggest needing improvement...perhaps a thicker mattress cover on the bed?

What an amazing facility! We plan to return in the summer months to take full advantage of all that it offers. We had a tour with one of the co-owners and learned of the very thoughtful approach to the Retreat's development and future plans. The units are situated on a hill overlooking a bay, and fields which will be filled with flowering vegetation in the spring/summer. The unpolluted night sky will delight anytime of year. The units are new, clean, and well-appointed and the hosts are very personable. My spouse and I stayed at Fossil Farm to attend an event in New Glasgow, but it would be a fantastic spot for group gatherings (family reunion, wedding, workshop, etc). So glad we discovered this gem!

It would be nice to have a simple breakfast option as there is little in the area. Guests can get supplies in the town 15m drive away before they arrive.

Fantastic and very special meal. Real focus on sustainability and eating local. The houses are newly renovated and the beds extremely comfortable. Lots of great activities.

We loved everything about Fossil Farms. From the cabin we stayed in to the grounds and beautiful view😊We ate dinner on the farm it was a six course meal, every dish brought out to us, was delicious. We highly recommend Fossil Farm . Oh and the farm animals were so sweet
