Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesQuaint and well located in neighborhood area, easy access to public transportation and walking distance to many attractions, restaurants and parks
Very well located, excellent value, great communication, breakfast yummy, no one leaves hungry and the hosts delightful, funny and helpful. Regards the room: pillows and mattress super comfortable, individual heat/ac controls with ample clothes and personal item storage: and a robe for shared bathroom thoughtful; bathrooms very well appointed with extras include mouthwash, body lotion, cotton balls and pads, water glasses. All very clean. Highly recommended.

CanadaNo issues, it served our needs perfectly.
A lot of things were excellent! Overall, I'd say the people who run Gingerbread were fantastically accommodating. Not only did they make you fresh breakfast in the morning, but they provided some wonderful company throughout the day and could answer any questions. Metro cards were available to use, unlimited hot chocolate and various teas were also available at all times should a craving spark. The facilities were very clean, especially considering the bathrooms on each floor were shared between a few units. The charm of the manor is in how European it feels, since the interior looks old fashioned, which was so charming. The location is excellent being just off a main road if you need to drive, or the metro was a five minute walk away, or there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We would 100% stay here again!

ColombiaHonestly don't have any complaints, they seem to know what they are doing!
The place was charming, the breakfast was delicious and very complete, and the location is spectacular. I took the bus into town from Vermont and was able to walk easily from the bus terminal. The neighborhood is fabulous and filled with tons of restaurants and cute parks around.

AustriaLoved my stay at Gingerbread Manor! The hosts were interesting to talk to, breakfast was delicious and different every day (loved the Shakshuka!), and I also really liked my room (Carlton). It's small, but it has a very nice little balcony and a great mattress. On top of that, the house is in a very nice part of the city and in easy walking distance to the bus station. Would go back any time!

United StatesThe owners appeared to use the common room as their living and working space, which would be fine, but it seemed messy.
Great location, easy parking with the garage, comfy rooms. The shared bathroom was nice and clean.

United StatesThere was nothing that we didn't enjoy at Gingerbread Manor B&B. It's a wonderful place in a wonderful location. The website says to use the Berri-UQAM metro stop, but we found the Sherbrooke stop to be more convenient (and not uphill).
We spent three wonderful nights here at the Gingerbread Manor B&B. First of all, the location of this B&B is amazing. Then neighborhood is a delight and wandering around was so much fun. Yves and Ephraim are fantastic hosts, and they're willing to give suggestions on what to see in Montreal or discuss history, culture or politics. The breakfasts were all delicious (as well as beautiful!), and there was a lot of good coffee. We had the Frontenac room which was spacious and has a wonderful window seat (and is a great place to drink wine). This room has a shared bathroom which presents no problems and is equipped with everything you need--soap, shampoo, mouthwash, band-aids, cotton balls. There is no elevator--so be prepared to walk up a beautiful wooden staircase. We didn't get to see everything we wanted in Montreal, so we'll be back!

CanadaNo concerns at all but would note the stairs could be challenging if you have mobility limitations. Comes with the territory of this beautifully cared for walk up, classic Montreal architecture.
Our hosts were exceptionally welcoming and great cooks. The breakfast was incredible! Definitely makes the price worth it. There were many small touches for the rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room that made the stay comfortable. The location was superb. Easy check in and clear instructions for how to live well in the manor.

CanadaThe room was clean but for some reason needed an airing out, which I did by leaving the French door to the balcony opened. It has screen.
The balcony that I had access to from my room. The breakfast was good and nourishing. The owners/hosts are accommodating and informed and open minded.
