CanadaThe owner was kind enough to upgrade us to the Captain's Quarters, a beautiful room in a period home from the 1800s. He's in the process of bringing the property back as close to it's original as possible. There are also little bungalows on the property. Parts of the property are a work in progress, but didn't hamper our stay, at all. It's going to be absolutely beautiful when it is complete. And as it's name suggests, you do get nice views of the harbour. We also took a little walk along the waterfront & caught the tail end of the sunset.

It was a convenient stop on our way to Cape Breton. Not expensive. Bed was comfortable. Port Hawkesbury is an interesting place with a history.

CanadaHis office was a complete mess. The cabin had a kettle but no instant coffee, no milk and the fridge was off.
Just one man was present when we stayed. He was busy with renovations in the house and was happy to talk about his carpentry. He had done all the woodwork in our cabin and it was well done. He recommended a place to eat which was good.

CanadaUpon arrival was met by the owner at the check in and café area which was not so clean and he was very unprofessional. Room was booked online and paid for. Never asked for anything but my name. Noted some of the motel rooms had railings at the steps and others didn’t. Also noted the skirt under the unit a little shabby. The train went by 2x during the night blowing the horn .

United StatesThe pictures on websites are true but presented to show it as a little nicer property than it really is. It is a “gem-to-be” but still a little rough on edges. The property seems a little overstated on the booking site as to its level of property.
We liked the cleanliness and location, and had the basics of everything we needed. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and professional, and obviously have the vision and work ethic to make this property even better.
