How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe log cabin was amazing!! The stunning views are breathtaking !! We were met by Liza and were shown around and made us feel at home straight away , Wen I win the lottery I will buy a place like this I felt like a millionaire the 2 nights we had :) not enough:( The cabin was spotless the rustic furniture was to die for . Met another girl from France I apologize for forgetting her name she was v helpful to . And met the host on our last night she was v friendly me and my wife were made so welcome by all it was lovely. I was sad to leave but gotta fly back to UK . The 2 dogs were gorgeous. 5 out of 5 stars brilliant place .. ps we were seen off by the deer s as we drove down the track :)

Verified reviewThe best part about this stay is the location and the VIEW. Unbelievable! Such a gorgeous panoramic view and the lodge itself is beautiful. Heidi is an extremely friendly host and was very accommodating. She also helped us find the firepit on her property so that we could have a campfire, which was very nice. There is also a very good gas BBQ available for use for cooking. The entire place is spotless. The bedroom was very well sized and the King sized bed was very very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and well equipped. This stay is amazing for animal lovers. There are friendly dogs and cats and horses on the property, and although we didn't catch a glimpse of any wildlife I am sure it is a haven for deer and other critters.
The kitchenette is not very well equipped for cooking a meal, which was definitely disappointing compared to other rentals my partner and I have stayed at - even at well below this price range and at a similar level of remoteness. For example - it would have been very helpful if there was a larger kitchen knife for chopping veggies, some tongs or a spatula for the BBQ (we had to use forks to flip our steaks), and a sponge or a scrub brush for washing dishes afterwards. A quick trip to a Dollarama could fix this for future guests! I'm sure that the host might have been able to lend us stuff from her kitchen, but unfortunately she was not on the property when we were cooking. Also please make note that the host's bedroom is connected to your living room space and that there is no doorway separating the living room space with the upstairs, which is also used by the host and her WWOOFers. This was not an issue for us on our stay, as the host made sure to respect our privacy - although we did expect a little bit more privacy when we booked considering what is noted on the listing is a little bit amiguous. We also felt a bit bad about potentially disturbing the host at night, as we went outside at 3am to watch the meteor shower and the patio is right next to her bedroom.

Verified reviewOur first experience ever staying at an air bnb type location... Let me tell you - pictures and description dont do it justice. It was an absolutely gorgeous property to explore. Warm welcome from the host upon arrival with tour of the space. Gorgeous panoramic views of the mountains, foothills and surround area. Amazing views of the milky way and northern lights, as it is nestled in Dark Sky territory. Perfect for my telescope. Host provided many fantastic suggestions being in the area for 30+ years. Everyone was friendly. It was easy to find... We live just under an hour away drive, yet this place felt like another world. We explored the property, took in the sun and moon set on the hill next to the cabin, then in the a.m. returned to the same spot to perform a second handfasting ceremony for our 7th Anniversary. A peaceful, calming and connecting location... Thank you for the memories and look forward to more ❤️
