I have ordered a late checkout for 2 PM as I had an appointment on the day of and didn’t want to drag all my stuff with me to my appointment. I verified with the receptionist the night before whether my order went through and he confirmed that both the late checkout order and payment were already processed. However, the staff the next day was apparently not informed of this, thus they knocked on my door at 11:30 AM asking why I had not checked out yet when checkout was supposed to be done at 11 AM. Not a big deal really but given that I paid extra for the service, I expected not to be rushed the next day.

Saintlo Jail Hostel is a unique experience! If you’re hypersensitive, you might feel the building’s historic presence. The hostel is very clean, but note there’s no elevator, so heavy luggage can be challenging. Overall, a memorable stay!

Very unique place to stay. Your in actual cells and you feel it as they are tiny. A bed only. Very interesting place to stay and in a perfect location.

The breakfast was disappointing — when we arrived there was almost nothing left, and it wasn’t refilled, so we left hungry. Also, personally, it felt a bit uncomfortable to sleep in such a small, enclosed space, but that’s part of the charm of the experience.

It was a very unique experience staying in an old jail. The theme was well maintained, everything was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Noise travels quite easily on the floor with single rooms. As well, I found it odd that staff start cleaning early in the morning around 8 when they advertise quiet time until 9AM. Seems like that could be done once people check out/head out for the day?

Good location, interesting space, ample bathrooms/showers, decent breakfast for a hostel (the bagels were tasty) and strong AC.

Just a couple of toilets (single sex) per floor. Not a complaint as this is a converted Victorian jail!

Breakfast was very very spartan. If that is trying to replicate jailhouse conditions, or its the standard fare for hostels, thats TBD, however it was the only letdown. Otherwise there is no quit place to work. A door would be useful in the canteen and the back, to isolate the supposed 'quiet' commons area.

A very authentic experience, that's for sure. I might come back, tho stay at one of the bigger cells. Great for solo travelers. Curious how the experience would be for 2+ people.

The registration person was unpleasant...abrupt. Being this was my first time staying in a hostel she was not very helpful. The first night was great in the bedroom. There were six people all respectful. The second night not so much...different people. The room smelled sooo bad when i entered it around 930pm. It was tough to stay in it. I guess thats the hazard of staying in a hostel. You just never know. The one bathroom was pretty dirty.

The breakfast staff were great. They were friendly and helpful. The food was well prepared and presented. The bedroom was clean. The price for the room was right for the accommodation.
