Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was a bit warm without A/C, but not a huge problem.

The breakfast as always was first class. A lot of different choices as well as a hot item was served. Most of the bread was baked on site. The host and hostess were both helpful and most accommodating. We also enjoy being able to share the breakfast table with other visitors and that always adds to the visit. There are lots of humming birds at the property which is an added enjoyment.

There is literally nothing I did not like about my stay at Alpenglow. Anja and Theo were very hospitable and friendly. My room was spacious and very clean. I hope to stay here again in the future if it's available.
Anja made some great breakfast every day. I had eggs benedict on Friday and scrambled eggs on Monday. The food was delicious, as well as the coffee and juice. Theo also chatted with me on Friday. It definitely felt like I was home. Anja and Theo were very hospitable and friendly. My room was spacious and very clean. I hope to stay here again in the future if it's available.

Nothing! There was nothing I didn't like!
The quiet comfort, the excellent Breakfast, the charming Decor which reminded Me very much of my Travels to Switzerland, The Hospitality was unmatched and the Friendliness of the Hosts was beyond par. I would highly recommend that should One find Themselves in the Kimberly Area to definitely find and book several nights stay at one of the best Bed & Breakfasts I have ever had the Privilege to stay in...Thank You, Anya and Theo!!!

Host and breakfast were wonderful. Also it was nice to see that items provided were high quality, eg the toilet paper was first class and not rough one ply hotel stuff. That was true for all provided items.

Anya was very welcoming. The room was perfect: clean, large and all the accessories you need in the bathroom for make-up, etc. Very friendly. Met other guests at breakfast who had stayed there many times, which was a great commendation for Alpenglow. Highly recommend, and I would stay there again

The room was a bit warm upon arrival, but the airflow and fans that were supplied made our sleeps quite comfortable. No real complaints at all..
Fantastic service and accommodations st Alpenglow! Anya and her husband were excellent hosts, the room was very comfortable, and the breakfasts delicious and filling! The location was very convenient as well. As we told Anya, we will be back the next time we visit Kimberley!

This was a lovely place to stay. The owner did everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Her breakfasts were outstanding and the visits were very enjoyable. The facilities were spotless and well kept. Everything worked as it was supposed to. It was quiet, easy to get to and close to town.

Nothing to complain about, this place is awesome!
Super friendly kind welcoming hosts, very clean homely space, loved that the place was a 5 min drive to the Nordic ski center and so walkable to the downtown area! Also loved the hot tub amenity! Breakfast was also so delicious. Had an absolutely wonderful time and hope to come back again!

Nothing to complain, just be able to walk stairs.
Very comfy euro style beds. Beautifully quiet. Breakfast was fantastic and hostess was lovely. Location only two minutes drive to ski hill parking lot, and close enough to walk to the town center, "the Platzl". Where proper winter boots to manage the snowy paths. Will definitely go back.

The only improvement would be a new sofa bed upstairs in the room with two queen beds for a larger family to stay if needed. The two old couches are very saggy and uncomfortable at the end of the day.
