Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaCheerless place, reminds me of a pod hotel. Not a picture on the wall, no view, basic soaps etc. firm bed. Minimal furniture.
Centre of town new motel, quiet and clean, comfortable, room not cramped. Walking nearby. Good for travellers.

CanadaHave check in at same place OR mention on your website that you need to check in at a different place. Unloading suitcase and briefcase just to reload and back track to a check in that I had driven past was annoying and frustrating after a long day
Location was nice, having to go to another property to check in was a pain, express check out was good

CanadaThe television didn’t have very many channels, but we weren’t really there to watch TV anyway
This property was centrally, located and clean. It looks like it’s been recently renovated. The room was clean and well appointed. No complaints.

United KingdomThe Humpback is what you expect from a motel. Park your car outside your room, move your bags in and you have a room with 2 double beds, private bathroom, sink and fridge in the room, but paper thin walls. Not too noisy, but you can hear the traffic and neighbours. This is why im not rating a 10. You get what you pay for so it's basic but comfortable. Curtains closed fully so we weren't woken at 5am by the sun, it's in a perfect location for the town's amenities. Location-wise wise it's great.

CanadaIt ended up being very hot while we were there. There’s no air-conditioning. Probably only an issue a few days a year, but it was hot, muggy and hard to sleep
Great location close to everything. Recently renovated and very clean. Easy check in checkout process.

CanadaPrice...I do find it on the higher end for cost
Always a great stay and clean! Stayed here more then once and the place is always so clean. We stayed for 2 nights and was told housekeeping was every three days but to call if needed anything. Well came back to the room after a day of exploring and the staff and taken the few used towels, emptied the garbage and left clean towels :) was such a nice bonus !

Very efficient, no frills motel. Great beds and a good shower. Walking distance to the best restaurants and the ferry terminal.

United KingdomMattress was too soft but that’s just our preference.
Good location - only about 25 minutes by car from Telegraph Cove which was our base for whale watching. Some really nice walking/hiking trails close by. Port McNeil looks like a nice little town. Clean room and bathroom.

CanadaUnfortunately during the time we stayed there, there were no staff at the Humpback Inn as their office was closed for renovations. The staff at the other hotel where you temporarily check in weren’t able to help with housekeeping items/requests as they are separate businesses, so we were SOL until we spotted housekeeping the next afternoon. Hopefully once this renovation is done this won’t be an issue!
The location of this motel can’t be beat. The room was brand new, and there was tons of parking.

United KingdomGood, clean, simple accommodation in the heart of the town - ideal for our short stay. The check in staff were welcoming, the bed was comfortable, we could park right outside and we enjoyed great beer and tasty pizza at the nearby Devil's Bath brewery. Met some friendly locals and enjoyed our stay.

CanadaWe were a bit disconcerted that the only sink was in the kitchen area not in the bathroom. Didn't really matter but was a bit odd. No staff on site - again did not matter, as no problems arose
The rooms were very clean and pleasant. The large walk-in shower was great. Appreciated the fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. Excellent location as very near the ferry and some restaurants

We checked in at another location. Exceptional service. However, no staff on site and the phone didn’t so we could not ask for a wake up call. We had a knock on the door late at night - a wandering woman. But scary but no harm done. Walking to our tour site, to restaurants and to the water was very easy - a plus, given my limited mobility. Room was very clean in an old building. Limited toiletries.
