Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Clean, everything a solo traveller could ask for in a hostel style setting. Loved having private solo rooms with shower/toilet facilities.

United StatesMy husband’s downstairs bathroom didn’t have a hand towel.
Since my husband and I had to each get a single room, one was downstairs and the other upstairs. Upstairs was a beautiful cozy room with infrared light at the head of the bed and grounding organic sheets on the bed. Both rooms had luxurious Turkish towels. The communal kitchen was well organized and spotless. Lovely staff, Michael greeted us and owner, Angie was very knowledgeable about area “to do’s”. Great stay!

CanadaNothing really although their hours are a bit restrictive in that you can't check in before 5:00 pm.
The single room and Michael their staff member were both great. Also having the bathroom in the room and not having to share was very good.

CanadaNo grab bars by toilet. Heavy doors without hydraulics. Beds not suitable for tall folks.
Pristine and clean. Quiet and well managed. Not like a youth hostel with dorms. More like a mini hotel with shared kitchen and living room. Lots of older adults so I fit right in. Kitchens were very well organized and all my stuff felt safe and cared for. I could lock my own room of course. Very mobility friendly!!! Level entry and one level throughout. Doors were heavy and bathroom has narrow entry. Could fit a walker though. Shower not mobility friendly.

Jasper East Hostel was everything as described on the website and more. Angie and Michael were very welcoming and helpful.

CanadaIt’s really more like a hotel than a hostel because you get a room with ensuite also the location close to Jasper is great. Further, Michael, who they have hired to run the place is very professional and friendly.

JapanI left my key in the room and went out. It was my fault, but I called the emergency number but couldn't get through. It was after 11pm, so I guess they were asleep.
The staff was very kind and explained everything to me, even though I was not very good at English. I broke a pair of tongs while cooking, but the woman didn't blame me and told me I didn't have to pay for it. I'm really grateful.

United KingdomRoom downstairs next to the communal hallway’s entrance very noisy due to people’s movement after 11 p.m. The location is also close to noisy main road.
The idea behind the environmentally friendly accommodation was lovely. Beds comfy, cleanness very good. Staff very welcoming and nice.

CanadaI am not a fan of the cost for a hostel that is also closed during the day. I understand that Jasper is a town being rebuilt so I didn't have a problem paying what I did, for now. Jasper is my happy place so I will contribute, but I do think a look at the cost / hours in the future, would be beneficial.
I will start off by saying the staff are amazing here and they followed up with me to make sure that I would be checked in by the time they "close the doors". They took me on a little tour to my room and explained everything in detail, which was great. The red light therapy lights are amazing!

CanadaHostel is 45 minutes from Jasper and it’s weird that we can’t stay in the room between 11 until 5pm. The explanation of time needed to clear doesn’t make sense because the rooms aren’t cleaned until you checkout.
Clean, organized and quiet.
