    - No closet in the cabin for clothes, just a hanger - Small bathroom with almost no space for own things - Johnston Canyon is nice stroll, but nothing special/spectacular (own opinion)

    - Location between Banff and Lake Louise - Great in-house restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, delicious food, friendly staff - Large living room with cool bear-themed couch table and fireplace - Parking space near cabin

    Cabins are too close together.

Located right at the start of a cool hike up to some waterfalls so you can get a nice early start before the crowds arrive. Comfortable little cabins. Great food and snacks at the restaurant and cafe.

No laundry. The bbq pressure went down if both were used at the same time so it took a long time to cook.

The cabin was very quaint but clean. A nice large room. We used the bbq every evening and they provided us with crockery and cutlery. The restaurant sold very good draught beer and sweet potato fries. The cafe sold excellent iced latte. Straight out of the door you could hike up the 7 waterfalls and walk further to the wonderful Ink Pots. The road near the cabins was quiet.

You have to be aware that it is a very touristic place and the car park is full with tourist buses etc. So for us it was a too busy place all together. And it is way too expensive for what you get!

Very cute cabins and location is great.

    Everything was good.

You might notice that it is rated as a two star hotel. That is comparing it to other hotels. This place is an experience, you are in the woods just like a camping cabin. There is a great hiking trail to waterfalls beside the property. There is a restaurant with good food. We saw a grizzly bear eating berries along the road about 2miles from the property. The creaking floors and wood smoke smell just added to outdoors feeling.

Our bungalow looked clean when we arrived but had a very bad odor. We found a mouse trap( house) under the dresser. It may have had dead mice in it. Not sure as I didn't look inside we just removed it from the cabin and let the staff know about it. They had their maintenance staff come in and check the stove/furnace pipe and removed the mouse house from the porch. The smell seemed to improve after that. In my attempt to find the odor I washed the floors thinking maybe something on them that wasn't visible. They are dog friendly units and I thought maybe they had urine on them that I wasn't seeing. They hadn't been cleaned in a while. I went thru an entire roll of paper towels cleaning them. That may have helped with the smell also. The good news is it didn't keep us from enjoying our stay. We ate at the restaurant several times it was very good and it was so convenient having a restaurant so close.

The location was perfect! Check in and staff were very helpful and kind.

Really small beds. Mice at nighttime everywhere even if you cleaned up. So we decided not to cook diner there.

Beautiful location in the woods, next to Johnston Canyon.

Great location. We could start the trail node and early before the crowds arrived. The chalet was a dry, clean comfortable place to stay for 2 nights and great to stay bride we went on to the ice field parkway. Also - We saw a bear !

Cabin was smaller than we expected

Very cute cabins but we had a duplex and it was smaller than we thought it would be. If we did it again we would rent the whole cabin. We missed not having a porch and place to sit outside. All you need is walking distance from the cabins. The restaurant is pricy. But the food was good. We’d recommend Johnston cabins and we’d stay here again.

I thought I was getting a larger suite and was a little surprised at how small the room was. It would be helpful to have a small broom to clean up foot debris.

Close to areas we wanted to hike in. We stayed there 32 years ago - still a nice place.

As I recall, there wasn't a lot of room in the bathroom to set down things like toothbrushes, etc. The cabins are cozy and private, but there is no air conditioning, and since the day had been hot, it took some time with all windows open and a fan on to cool it down.

We chose this property because we needed to be at the Stanley Glacier Trailhead at 7:30 a.m. and this was the closest place we could stay. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't open for breakfast before we had to leave, but they had a refrigerator and we were able to get yogurt and granola at a grocery store in Banff that we could eat in the morning. Johnston Canyon is a very crowded tourist attraction--we walked there in late afternoon before eating dinner and the bridge at the lower falls was still very full of people.

booking.com said that I reserved the location for $398 and it came through at $487. It was already way over budget and then there was the extra, which I was confused by. I believed that was the total price. No one will answer my emails, therefore I'm stuck with the extra. I will not be using booking.com again. Sorry

Bugs! Even though we kept the doors and windows shut there were bugs everywhere, especially the separate toilet room. Nothing major but lots of midges and we did get bitten! The cabin was clean when we arrived everywhere but the floor. It had clearly been swept but not mopped. We put our toddler down for 5 minutes to play and ended up having to give him a bath because he was so filthy! Also ruined a couple of pairs of socks. Considering the breakfast was so great at the restaurant, the dinner was average to poor, we were really disappointed. Didn’t have lunch so can’t comment on that. The restaurant and shop don’t appear to have air con and get very warm on a sunny day.

The location is amazing. Literally at the trail head of the Canyon. We had a two bedroom cabin and we were overlooking the river, it was stunning. The breakfast at the restaurant was brilliant. Wifi was decent compared considering the remote location and compared to some of the rest of the area. Good coffee at the on site shop. Nice little souvenir shop. Comfortable beds and big bathroom.

Very cozy, nice location, perfect to visit the Canyon! Staff is very friendly. We checked-in around 4PM, they recommended us to visit the Canyon around 7PM and not the next morning and OMG the Lady was soooo right! We managed to do a great hike with very few people around, enjoying the golden hours around sunset when we started the Canyon hike at 18:40. And the next morning, around 8AM the Canyon was already crowded :D so thanks a lot again for the tipp :) ;). Our cabin was very clean; cozy, great :)

Everything is perfect but there were some little mosquitoes in the washroom and the sink area is too small to hold any items.

It’s really good. Easy to find and it is a good accommodation.
