Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaI think you should get rid of the carpeting because the rooms smell very much like mildew. The chair in the room was completely worn out and needs to be replaced as well. A couple of little side tables beside the beds would be nice.
Location perfect. Muffin was not good. Banana bread and fruit fine.

CanadaThe breakfast was a nice touch but a little weak. A muffin, fruit and juice didn't cut it. Sorry. The only other minor thing was my side of the bed was next to the air conditioner which kept me awake.
The location was great. Close to the beach, restaurants. Ideally situated. We loved our room with the little patio to sit and relax. Free parking was a bonus. Thank you.

CanadaPerfect location in the middle of everything and just a few minutes walk to multiple beach locations. Plenty of restaurant options in the vicinity as well as shops, a theatre and fantastic places for a stroll and a wander. The queen suite with a jacuzzi and a balcony was so relaxing!! The Kettle Creek Inn is gorgeous with an internal courtyard filled with trees, birds, beautiful greenery, and the sound of running water. Such a peaceful retreat, I can't wait to go back!

CanadaRight from check in, the staff were incredibly courteous and helpful. We were given a rundown of the area, shown the building, given lots of tips and suggestions of things to do and see, and immediately offered a card to fill out for breakfast. Our room was extra clean and comfortable. We had a suite with a sitting room and balcony which was facing the street, and it was so enjoyable to sit there and wind down once we got in. Our dinner at the restaurant was above expectations. Service was excellent and the food was absolutely perfect. We were lucky enough to have a sunny evening on the patio covered by lots of shade from the various trees and plants surrounding us in the garden. Checkout was quick and easy, and no surprise the help from the front desk was exceptionally friendly. We cannot wait to come back next year.

CanadaOne of the backup phone numbers given in a telephone message was not accepting phone calls.
Great location was able to walk where ever we went, staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful even though we had a last minute reservation. Room was clean and very comfortable. The inn was unpretentious, quaint and felt very comfortable. Had our own little deck with a couple chairs to enjoy the outdoors. Would go back for sure.

An excellent overall experience with a very leasant surprise being the hotel/inn restaurant served a superb dinner. Usually hotel/inn restaurants have substandard dinner facilities compared to external restaurants but not this one. We met friends at the inn who are mobility challenged which necessitated dining in. It was a very good experience with excellent service and superb food quality.

CanadaToilet fastening needs tightening as it rocks a bit. Water pressure & hot water died a bit around 10 a.m.??
OK - pretty basic breakfast & left in the room the night before. Meal & bar had a great ambiance, great staff & a friendly atmosphere. Popular dining room fully booked by theatre goers so couldn’t get in 😔. Room was very nice & reflects the character of the whole place.

A comfortable stay in this traditional, family run hotel in the historic village of Port Stanley Despite a very late arrival, access to our room was easy and the room was warm and well prepared Breakfast of yoghurt , juice, fruit and delicious muffins/ banana bread was provided , fresh in our room every day and the wine glasses left for us proved very useful! A fridge in the room was very welcome especially as the town was very quiet and many places not yet open for the season.( a very good supermarket is situated a short distance away on the main road to St Thomas). We had the suite , right at the front of the building which was perfect for us to have somewhere to relax in the evenings Plenty of private parking available at the rear of the property and a good base for the local area

CanadaThe mattress was slightly firm for us and felt like it was dipping in the middle. But overall, it was good. It wouldn't stop us from staying there. The place overall seems a little dated. It could use a refresh. But again it would not deter us from going back at all
We loved our room. Perfect location and we liked the layout. We had the Higgins Room. Highly recommend. Checking in and out was easy too. Everyone was very kind and welcoming.
