Breakfast was pretty basic.

This was a nice hotel and a good value for the price. They are renovating rooms, so I was upgraded to a bigger room. All in all exactly what I would expect from a room at this price.

The single chair at the desk should be replaced (room 304) and it would be nice to have more than one chair between the two connected rooms. How to work the air conditioning unit was hard to figure out but we eventually managed. The televisions are old and should be replaced. It's not that I stay in a hotel to watch TV, but when I want to watch it in the evening, I want to be able to see what I'm watching - the pictures on both sets were pretty awful. My main complaint is with hot breakfast which sounded good (scrambled eggs, home fries, sausages and bacon) but didn't measure up. The scrambled eggs were not nearly cooked long enough, and the home fries were soggy after sitting in the steamer. When it didn't improve on the second morning, we gave up and chose to eat elsewhere on our last day.

Just off the highway in Newcastle, this place isn't plush by any means but, overall, it is pretty good, especially for the cost. We appreciated having light switches and lights on both sides of the beds, and lots of USB ports and plug outlets for charging - really helpful if you're traveling with several electronic devices. I loved that the window actually opened so we could get fresh air when the heat let up in the evening. The beds are comfortable and clean and the bathroom was recently renovated and quite modern - it could use more towel racks to allow towels to dry for use the next day, but we managed.

There was not an elevator to use and we were on the second floor.

This hotel was very clean. The room was perfect. Even though we arrived late the concierge allowed us to use the laundry. We would definitely stay here again!

Outside of the building needs some love bit inside entrance and rooms nice. Hallways and carpets could use renovating.

Snow clearing was not very good. The snow wasn't cleared in front of the walkway to the front door, so we had to walk through it. When I mentioned it, I was told that the maintenance man had put out some salt but that isn't the same as shoveling snow out of the way. They need to do better on that front. The sofa bed in our room was not at all comfortable to sit on, not that there was enough light in the room to have sat there to read in any event. The sofa bed also impeded access to the closet somewhat.

Breakfast was as good as we've had in any "free breakfast" hotel - scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, a selection of cereals and breads, yogurt, juice, etc. The hashbrowns weren't as crispy as we'd like but the rest was great. The dining area was nicely appointed - both bright and clean, and they had real plates and cutlery. The room was a good size and the bathroom had been completely remodelled.

There was a hockey team staying here and the breakfast area was always busy with no seats available - though this is not the fault of the hotel.

We had to extend our stay and there was no issue. The staff was very accommodating.

It was noisy at times. We felt it was caused by water running. toilet flushing in room above us. Also road traffic. Ice machine was very noisy, but that didn't affect us in our room. I know some of us are more sensitive to noise than others.

On the outskirts of town but easy to get back onto highway the next morning to continue our trip.
