We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United StatesThe communication with the host was poor. I waited outside the property for 3 hours. I just wanted to drop my suitcase and go to downtown Vancouver. The front door, was not easy to open.The bathroom handle door was loose. I was not notified.

CanadaBathroom facilities are shared, although we never had to wait to use the facilities. It would have been nice to have a dedicated bathroom for each room, but it wasn't a huge deal.
Location was handy to get to the Richmond Dome for Volleyball Nationals, and also a shot uber ride to Stevston area. You will need a vehicle or to taxi/uber to get to most places. Nice quiet neighbourhood.

United States1. Another guest apparently didn’t know how, or just forgot, to lock the front door when coming in or going out. I found it unlocked twice - security risk. 2. Batteries in thermostats were low, not functioning? I couldn’t figure out how to change room temperatures. 3. I couldn’t find a place to buy coffee pods to fit the machine. 4. kitchen floor & counters not sanitary or cleaning supplies available; I got diarrhea one day while staying there. 5. Not enough pots or leftover containers. Another guest selfishly used the only 2 pots for storing their leftovers in the refrigerator.
Beautiful, luxurious, new looking home; bedroom & bathroom were clean. Check in & check out information was timely. Other guests were quiet, I hardly knew they were there.

SpainThe place only exists to take money from tourists. When we arrived, it was already dirty and nobody cleaned it during our four-day stay. As you share the kitchen and living room with other guests, the house is full of ants. You can hear noise from the other rooms. There is only one climate control unit for all the rooms. They didn't leave enough toilet paper in our room, and when I wrote to them to ask for more, they replied that I should take care of it myself. I wouldn't go back.
