How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewPlace quite new. Host did fulfill request in the end
The lighting and amenities should have been checked before our checkin. When we arrived we found that the light bulbs in the lounge have fused. The bedroom was not sufficiently lit. Table lamp switch was faulty. Although there were 4 of us only 2 big bath towels were given. The 2 small ones were replaced after our request. When we wanted to use the washing machine and dryer we were told its too late and were asked to use the next morning. As we were leaving early the next day it was not possible. In the end we were allowed to use it but can only collect the dried clothes the next morning. There was only 1 pair of slippers available. The pillows were too flat. We were not told that there r extra pillows.
We do check amenities for every booking, but missed lights this time. They arrived around 10:30pm and wanted to do laundry around 11:00pm without any notice in advance , laundry room is shared with us on the upstairs, it takes at least 1:40 to finish. It’s really late for us. We prefer our guests bring their own slippers, this is not a hotel and we don’t provide slipper for every guests.

Verified reviewThe location on the edge of Calgary was convenient to get to. I enjoyed an evening walk around the neighborhood.
The bathroom door didn't close properly.

Verified reviewOwn place and quiet. Beds were comfortable. Patio was nice and with little view.
We needed more blankets and pillows as it was chilly and the heaters were not the best. We did ask the owner that we met out in driveway if we could have another blanket and he said he get one down there, but that never happened. It took a long time to heat up the rooms and no dials to set temperature even though it stated there were. No heater in family room. No wash cloths. Concrete steps down to place were not well my and some uneven areas.

Verified reviewthe area was decent, safe and back yard was amazing It is a nice place of a get way. The rooms are comfortable as well as the shower room.
If the breakfast can be provided that would be awesome or at least fruits or snack. Also to have a paper towel in the kitchen area or washroom. I would like to see the heat or air conditioner controller as it seems the thermostat is in the upper level

Verified reviewThe place was quiet and the location was good. There was a co-op and gas station nearby.
There was no real kitchen, just a microwave, toaster oven and a plug in induction cooking plate. No frying pan, just two pots. No paring knife to even peel an apple. The toaster was not clean, neither was the toaster oven. We chose not to use them. Not really set up for a family. We were three adults so we ate out anyway. It would have been nice to make breakfast, but it was manageable without being able to do so. You could see the mountain tops from the far corner of the patio, standing at the very edge of the deck, just over the house tops, not as in the descriptions. All those photos were definitely taken from the owner's upstairs windows and balcony. The living room lights did not work at all except for one light over the sink. The sink hardly drained. The ceramic heaters smelled so bad that we could not use them for heating up the space. I rented this because of the mountain view, so it was disappointing. These were our last two nights, so, had I known this, a hotel would have been just as good and less expensive.
Yes, you should find out from the listing pictures and my profile that it's not a full kitchen. I had a few small knives before and even don't realized when all of them were taken away and lost. I have add a frying pan and small knife, cleaned and fixed all issues. You can see mountain view very easy (walk or driving) in our community which is named as "Rocky Ridge", you will see it from your car when you are closer and drive to our home; you can see the mountains all the seasons just from other side of the front street of our property towards west, or from the deck outside the suite especially in spring, later fall and winter when those tall trees without leaves. This is a 2 bedroom suite, one hotel room may be cheaper than it, but I don't think 2 hotel room will still be cheaper in Calgary.

Verified reviewBeautiful space in walkout basement with covered deck in northeast Calgary neighborhood which was close to shopping, bus & train lines. Ann has a basket of train schedules & maps of the city plus must see areas in the mountains which are about an hour away. The 2 bed with open living/dining was very comfortable. The walk-in shower was awesome!!! It was clean & had everything we needed. Parking was available in the drive
To access the unit you must walk down a flight of concrete steps to the back deck. There is a handrail & it is lighted. We just had to be careful carrying our things down & up.

Verified reviewPerfect location in a quiet residential area. Loved the two bedroom layout and amazing treed views from the large windows. Kitchen well stocked with the basic appliances for food preparation and storage. Generous supply of ground coffee. Designated parking in driveway.
Slightly awkward access to lower level private entrance, handrail very low and not secure. Sofa seat cushions are worn and do not provide adequate support.
