I didn't like the view of the commercial garage on the back of the apartment building. The owner said that fencing will be put there which will help tremendously.

The owner was awesome and made sure we had everything we needed. We actually got upgraded to the apartment building so I honestly can't comment on Moosehead Trail Rider Rooms. The apartment was nice with stainless steel appliances and a frontload washer and dryer. The lounge and restaurant are very nice and the service was fast and friendly.

Not really a check in area so to speak. Not sure if you’re supposed to check in at the bar/lodge but it didn’t open til 4 and check in was 3pm. Luckily the cleaning lady was there when we pulled up so she was able to find out which of the 3 rooms was ours

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. It was connected to a bar that had great staff and even better prices. We were lucky enough to be there for the cod fish and chips special and it was done to perfection. Best we’ve had out whole trip so far!

The only down point was that the signage for the rooms was not visible from the road. So we were going to the different doors trying to find where to check in. But this is staff stepped up, as they were expecting us and kept an eye out. Having the signage moved to be viewed from the road and a sign on the door that you would enter to sign in would help to ease the check in process.

The staff was wonderful. The owner took the time to come speak with us. It was like being home and we felt welcomed. The room was beautiful, nice and clean. At the time of our visit, there was a heat wave, but we were very grateful for the AC in the room. We plan to stop in again the next time we are out that way.

My wife and I truly loved our stay at the Moosehead Trail Rider Rooms! The rooms were clean quiet and very comfortable. It’s a family run operation and they go out of their way to be sure you are happy. I found it to be a great location to use as a home base to start day trips while seeing the local attractions. Holly was able to help direct me with ideas that enhanced our stay, including being “schreached in” an event I was aware of for years visiting the island, but never experienced. We met Holly and other new friends at a gander legion and now we are true Newfoundlanders! What a great evening!

The property was clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The staff are friendly and always there to help if necessary. We really liked the location because we were able to use it as a home base and go to site see points of interest easily.

The owners are so very friendly and ensure you have everything you may need, they go above and beyond to make you feel a part of their lives...the meals are homemade and delicious, and worth the price, very fairly priced! Holly was so immediately friendly and inviting like family coming home! Room is so spacious and clean, i could not have asked for anything better so i booked another night for my return through Glenwood on my return to St. John's and again found everything to be just as wonderful and welcoming as the first nights stay...Holly remembered my name and was expecting me. What a beautiful place Holly and Mario have built and expanded for the purposes they have done it and it serves multiple needs and so well kept, if there were a rating higher than 10 they certainly deserve it in every way possible. I was made to feel so much like a very welcome family member!!!! Thank you so much Holly and Mario, you have a wonderful business and great big Newfie hearts.....thanks for making my first visit to Newfoundland so awesome, i will be talking about you and your business to everyone who mentions that they need accomodations near Gander as it was truly relaxing and home like feeling for me. The address was wrong and took us to the wrong location. The lighting was poor. The main light was too bright and the one small lamp was not bright enough. Only one small mirror in the bathroom so only one person at a time could get ready for the day. The air conditioning unit was very loud and it was very hard to get to sleep so we left the fan on which was very loud too and then the room got hot. We were told about the restaurant/bar that had fresh fish for supper but when we went in to eat no one acknowledged us. We stood there for a bit but the room was dark and uninviting so we turned around and left.

The owner was very pleasant. The room was clean except for the floor that had foot prints all over it.

We weren’t completely sure where to go to get our keys so maybe some signage for key pickup would be helpful!

Staff was very friendly and the room was wonderful! Loved having a bar attached to motel so that we could socialize and meet other people without having to drive anywhere!
