The staff and owners were so lovely and friendly! Dinner at the Bothy (on-site restaurant) and breakfast was delicious. The property is beautiful and the accommodations were fantastic. The location is very convenient to the fort and lighthouse. I highly recommend if visiting the Louisbourg area.

That we only stayed one night...

Loved the vibe, the team (Colin, Justin, and the amazing Julie!), and the breathtaking ocean view with Fortress Louisbourg. Quite stunning. The food in The Bothy was some of the best we've ever eaten, and the service was kind, caring, knowledgeable, and cordial. North Star Beach Resort is the best of hostelry incarnate: sophisticated, elegant, unpretentious.

Great location. Pictures on website show it a little more detached. Having Justin and Colin making the whole operation go smoothly and enhancing guest enjoyment was added value and staff are on their toes and great.

My husband and I stayed for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Colin and Justin are very hands on owners and can’t do enough for you. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Ate at The Bothy for dinner and had breakfast and lunch in the Coast. The meals were delicious! Highly recommend!

The location of North Star is really amazing if you have an ocean facing room. It was great to hear the water lapping the shore as we slept. The room itself was lovely, nicely equipped and comfortable. Both the onsite restaurants are stellar - the french onion soup and chicken pot pie are really excellent. The hosts and staff at the property are topnotch, friendly and efficient. Great stay.

Breakfast is not included but is served in a charming space and the a la carte choices were excellent and appropriately priced. Service level is excellent.

Not a lot to do in Louisbourg other than visit the fort. A few outdoor areas of the accommodation could do with a repaint.

There was nothing really..!

The suite was a ‘wow’ with every comfort catered for. The breakfast and lunch options were many, varied, freshly prepared and delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We were advised places to visit and encouraged to see the locale. Entertainment was excellent while the location was calm, peaceful and relaxing.

The only complaint was the bright outside lights prevented my wife from a good night's sleep. The lights are great for safety and security, but room-darkening blinds would be helpful.

Fantastic location. The restaurant was exceptional with great seafood along with live entertainment and wonderful service. We had one of the best nights on our recent 3 week trip to Canada and Maine at the North Star.

only night stands to store any of your luggage and no luggage rack so lots of bending and opening suitcases. no closet but a tiny place in an open cabinet to hang few things. bring your own paper towels if you’re cooking. limited serving dinner ware

Hosts and staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food offered and the Bothy and for breakfast is exceptional. We enjoyed the live entertainment Friday night. The location is directly across from the fortress which is a must visit. We would go out of our way to visit here again.
