Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Very few supplies for the kitchen. No cutting board. Only one coffee cup.
comfortable bed. room was in the smaller section of the hotel closer to the beach. Very quiet. Good size fridge and freezer. Not sure why there were actually TWO fridges though.

The location was excellent since it has it's own beachfront. I was delighted that there's a BBQ grill and a machine to pump our floaties! It is also very near to everything that we need.

I can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
Everything! Definitely loved it! The location was fantastic. It also has some trees for those that want a bit of shade. It’s a 10 minute walk to Rattlesnake Canyon as well. Really shallow as well so our small children can walk in the water pretty far. We still out water wings on them but great for kids.

I love that it is on the shores of the lake and I could wake up and go for a swim before breakfast.

Nothing to do with my stay however would have liked to know what floor room was on while booking as it was difficult with smaller children to navigate 3 flights of stairs. However this is minor and preference really as the stay was awesome 😎.
Location on the beach, very accommodating and friendly staff. It was very quiet at appropriate times with other guests. Very family oriented.

Very nice lady at reception who gave us a great reccomedation for a place to eat, walking distance from the motel. Loved the food, also great staff.

Ungodly amount of spiders in the room and webs in most top corners of the place

We had such a lovely experience! The owners are so welcoming and we will definitely return this summer! We have been visiting Osoyoos...our little slice of paradise...for many many years and have just discovered the Poplars Motel...definitely our go to place from now on! The private beach is beautiful and yes...actually private! We would highly recommend! John and Tierney Diggens

We got 2 queen bed apartment, to me the queen bed inside the room was not comfortable.

Very clean, check in was a breeze. Young woman was helpful, concerned about wheelchair access. Worked for us..2 steps up. Room large enough to accommodate wheelchair. Suggestions for places to eat was spot on.

The beds were hard for us. You could hear people walking across the floor and slamming things upstairs while trying to sleep. We paid extra for a room with a beach view, but it wasn’t worth the extra cost.
How close it was to the beach. Was pretty clean.

We arrived on our motorcycles in a downpour, all our gear was soaking wet! The manager offered to dry some of our clothes so we had something to wear that evening. Above and beyond service!

Our room was on the top (third floor) and the stairs were quite steep. We had a large suitcase and a lot of gear for our baby so it was a bit of a challenge - but my husband got his work out in! Not a big deal to us, but worth mentioning for anyone with mobility issues. We also had difficulty with the shower - the water kept shutting off the morning we were checking out (maybe too many people having showers at the same time?) which was inconvenient with a head full of shampoo. We only stayed the one night - if this had happened every morning it would have been frustrating (not sure if it was a one off or not) - so it wasn't that big of a deal overall!
The location was incredible - right on the lake! The room was clean and the AC was a lifesaver during the heatwave. We appreciated having a kitchenette and a table, and lots of room to set up a pack and play for our baby to sleep in.

The unit lacked in kitchen supplies. It's an older building so don't expect perfection. You spend most of the time at the beach and need a place to sleep. We were happy with our stay overall and would definitely go back.
If you want to stay right on the waterfront this is the place for you. Just steps to the beach. Comfortable beach loungers are provided as well as well maintained BBQ's.
