How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It is hard to reach as it is located on Saint Catherine St. which is closed off for pedestrians. I had to park at Place des Arts and walk several blocks to the hotel. This is a hotel in the heart of Montreal, so for a very affordable $100 a night you have to be prepared to acknowledge that it's not the Ritz!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was large and very clean and the beds were comfortable.

The public refrigerator and microwave were dirty.
Overall room cleanliness was okay but the stains on sofa chairs need to cleaned or replaced. The location of the property is great. Breakfast isn’t bad but I was disappointed not to see eggs.

Small fridge in the standard rooms would be nice so I can keep my cocktails cold. Also ensure the TV's always working as mine wasn't having no signal.
An ideal location I have favored for the years I have been staying in the city. Quick check in with assistance friendly staff and owner at the front desk. Room was the right size and the bed comfortable.

The location is in St. Catherine which is a good area because they got everything (restaurants, coffee shop, shopping center). The staff are helpful also, they give what you need.

Entrance to hotel is between a sex shop and an off-licence, and frequently blocked by homeless people. Doorway looks like it was built in the 1960s and hasn’t been touched since. Lettering is falling off. The guest is welcomed by a very dirty staircase to the first floor. Common spaces are spartan and worn. Breakfast is just toast, coffee and juice. Photos don’t give the right impression at all. Windows are fairly sound proof but street noises come through aircon like you were there.
Room was ok. Location perfect. Affordable price.

Was not very clean ...missing towells ...rats on the terrace ...picture showed breakfast table within the room but was elswhere in another room ...breakfast only toast and cereal ....nothing in the fridge ...no baguels or muffins or fruits ...shower curtain smelt like urine !

Washrooms are shared and need to be cleaned more than once a day. It was very uncomfortable going to shower after someone and seeing urine on the floor

The entry stairs were very slippery. There were many occasions that people were sitting on the steps blocking the entrance

Although the lication us central, at first glance we were shicked that the hotel is next to Erotica and sex shops. Much relieved at breakfast ti see that the otel clientele were all very respectable;- families on a budget, like ourselves! There is no elevator and many stairs. We are 80 yrs. old and luggage was heavy for us to make the climb.
Arrived in Montreal at Gare du Palais and got a taxi .The driver had extremely difficult time to find the address 17 rue ste. Catherine oeust. It cost us over $40 . At the end of our stay we discovered that we could walk to the station. Only 15 minutes away!!

The quality of the rooms could have been better. The bed itself was fine, just the room was very old and not cozy.
Great location! Friendly staff. The hotel is located in a central location, close to restaurants, bars and art.

it's an old building with very few maintenance and upkeep done. The floors are creaking, the aircon is louder than my alarm clock. The photos in the advertisements was probably from 20yrs ago.
location is near the main attractions. The street is closed for cars and dedicated to pedestrians for walking and party. The sheets are fresh, in fairness.
