How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Very slippy shower!
Very comfortable beds, good shower, shampoo etc provided, great location to town, and there's a luggage storage facility right next door in Samesun which was handy as we started a hike.

The air-conditioner was way too loud. We had chairs outside but the air-conditioning unit was in the way and too hot.
The location was perfect and the room was in good shape.

Building was old and basic for the price however the price seems to be comparable to other similar properties in Banff. No front desk in the building, you need to use the front desk of the adjacent hotel.
Location close to the township was fabulous and a bus stop close by.

The room didn't have a clothes closet, chest of drawers or hangers.
The manager and staff were exceptionally nice. The property is in a good location.

There was only I hook to hang a wet towel in the bathroom, and virtually no counter space. A few more hooks and a shelf above the toilet would be fantastic.
The room was modern and clean. I loved the Keurig machine, and that there was a fridge and microwave in the room.

The outside door going to the second did not lock, anyone could have come in. No additional deadbolts on door, did not feel very safe combined with anyone being able to access the building. No lighting in the back parking lot, we left at 5 am and could not see while we were loading the car. The bathroom had no storage, everything was piled around the tiny sink and kept falling as there was no space. The air conditioning was VERY loud.
The property was located downtown with parking in the back of the building. Love the Rocky Mountain soap products available in the room.

We only stayed 1 night, but it was a nice big room with modern decor. Beds are very comfortable and big. Quiet area, so we got good rest. Reception staff were nice. fridge in the room. Plenty of places to eat out and around the inn. Free Roam bus pass on arrival.

Would have been nice of a small breakfast, even bread and coffee would have been helpful when staying in Banff as people will leave early to visit around.
The location was good. Nice view of the mountains. The room was spacious enough for 3 persons.

There was no closet where to hang clothes, only drawers.

Downfall that reception was in the next hotel across. Didn’t need to really go there only on check in and out. Air con unit in the bedroom was very noisy (you get used to it after a while). Corridors were dated but inside the rooms were more upto date.
Great location just a 5 minute walk to the start of the shops and supermarket. The staff were very friendly on arrival and check out. Great under ground parking facilities and always spaces. Room a very good size and a shared balcony with view of Banff Avenue. Lovely products in bathroom from the Rocky Mountain company which is local (Canmore + a shop in Banff). Feel this is excellent value for money for Banff!!
