It's hard to walk with a small child...it's better to wait until he's 3-4 years old

a complete brain reboot because it's far from civilization, only nature, cute animals knocking on the window!

The dome is incredible, but for a limited number of nights as there is only a toilet. This was not a problem for us as our kids were in a cabin fully equipped

Amazing views. Nature and wildlife everywhere. Hosts always available and very nice people

All was perfect. Clean, comfortable. In the middle of the nature. Gary was an excellent host. Possibilities to hike around the cabin. Fireplace inside the cabin to keep you warm. Deers, hares and squirrels in the surroundings.

We had a wonderful stay with Julia and Gary. From the moment we booked, we knew we had got something special. Such warm and friendly people. Very attentive over emails, and then again over WhatsApp once we arrived in Canada. Answering our many questions! Now to the cabin.. Wow . We have NEVER known silence like it, the location is something we've never experienced before. Very peaceful, we had the best sleep ever here. Exceptionally clean, instructions on how to use everything and a little setup box of treats on arrival. After many days of travelling and touristy places in alberta before we arrived here, it was so nice to spend time doing things at a slower pace, starting the fire, cooking breakfast on the griddle, listening to the rain on the cabin, read a book, play some games after a day of wilderness trails. What an experience we will never forget. We stayed as a family of 3, with our 3 year old daughter who loved the mumm creek trail and the rock snow man! We also found a park on the way to rock lake. I would recommend staying with children here- they find the fun in the wilderness, looking for animals, paw prints, rocks and getting muddy. She didnt mind a few days off grid ( ie no ipad!) Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The fact we had to leave.

The cabin was amazing, set in such a beautiful spot. Gary and Julia were brilliant hosts. Fully stocked kitchen with tea/ coffee. Having the griddle meant we could enjoy cooking and eating outside. There are plenty of walking trails straight from the cabin, and more down at the lake. So quiet and peaceful. I would definitely like to return one day!

Rocky Mountain Escape is a hidden gem! The lodge, nestled in the remote beauty of Rock Lake Park, offers a perfect retreat into nature. Julia and Gary are incredibly welcoming and make you feel safe and at home in the wilderness. The peaceful surroundings, beautiful hikes, and opportunities to explore nearby lakes make it a fantastic escape. We loved the barbecue evenings, learning to cook on a griddle, and experiencing the wood-burning stove. It was truly a unique and unforgettable stay. Highly recommend this getaway for anyone seeking a serene nature retreat.

It’s a very remote location without communication services and far from any communities. This was not a fault of the property but something unusual and slightly uncomfortable to experience.

The quality of the amenities, such as cooking utensils, bedding, and towels was very high. Great water pressure, with both hot and cold water. The cabin was completely stocked and prepared with everything guests would need and then some, the hosts had truly thought of everything. The cleanliness was impeccable.

    Nothing!

Highly recommend Rocky Mountain Escape! I was a bit hesitate to choose Rocky Mountain Escape since my original goal was only to stay in Jasper. But after I did it, it's totally worthy with the long drive! The location is just next to rocky lake provincial park, it took us 1-2 hours from Jasper to the cabin and the road was off-road but we did it without 4x4. Julia was very nice to explain the situation and recommend us 4x4 actually. While we stayed there, we learnt how to cook with griddle and we took the trail to enjoy the nature. We also drove to Rocky lake provincial park to see the scenery and bump into over 15 Elks! Gary was very nice to show us how to use wood-burning stove, and it was really a cool experience for us! And also Gary recommended us few trails to see the nice view of the mother nature. This was the best cabin getaway experience I could ever have! Thank you Julia and Gary for such lovely cabin!

Amazing location of the lodge in the backcountry of Rock Lake Park, a beautiful remote nature park North East of Jasper. The couple who is running the lodge, Julia and Gary, are wonderful people, full of hospitality. They give you the feeling of being welcome and safe in the middle of nature. We loved the hikes, and the lake nearby, barbecue evenings and preparing pancakes in the morning on the griddle in front of the block house.

The cleanliness is overwhelming! Not what I expected from a cabin. Cleaner than some five star hotels I’ve stayed in! The owners are amazingly helpful and the serenity is unbelievable! Highly recommend for some peace and quiet! Words just can not describe how beautiful it is. Closest thing to natural wilderness I’ve seen anywhere around jasper or Banff. Will definitely book another stay!!!

Nothing, if you want outdoors this is the place to go.

The cabins are located in the peaceful and stunning Rock Lake Provincial Park and deer or other wildlife are never far away. It offers an amazing base to explore the park and the hosts have great suggestions for trails which are perfectly sign posted and marked. The hosts themselves, Gary and Julia, are excellent. They are always around to make sure you return safely from your adventures, and have great stories to share. The cabin itself is cosy and warm, exceptionally clean and very well equipped. From bathrobes to emergency lights, the hosts have truly thought of everything. We definitely want to come back and explore in summer!

Nothing - but you should be aware it’s completely off grid! We loved that as time to disconnect but it’s not for everyone.

Complete and utter peacefulness! This is a unique stay in the middle of nowhere but it’s truly wonderful! The cabins are cozy and have everything you could need - it really feels like luxury after a day hiking! Gary is great and had lots of helpful recommendations for us including local hikes which were really special - arguably more beautiful at points than some of the more famous areas in Jasper! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We had in perfect stay in very quiet nature in a very spacious and perfectly equipped cabin. We were a bit concerned about cooking for the family, but it was no problem at all. We did a couple of hiking trips which were suggested and are well documented by the hosts. The creek next to the cabins is beautiful and our kids had a great time there. The outlook on the wetlands west of Rock Lake was the most stunning view of our whole West Canada trip. Finally we got the nature experience we wanted after the overcrowded and busy hot spots of especially Banff Nationalpark. It was literally the extra mile we needed to go to reach the cabins, but it was worth it! Very nice and helpful hosts!
