Internet connection was terrible- basically it didn’t connect in our room. It was fine at the pool area. Ability to connect to the internet is now essential to a traveler. Very disappointed! Staff seemed efficient but not very welcoming Peeling paint on the wooden deck in front of the motel unit makes for a worn out look. Exercise equipment is very old & should be replaced.

Bathroom door didn’t shut. Paintwork needs attention. Fridge was very noisy. Very creeky door to outside on the deck.

The only somewhat negative comment was that the decor could use a "sprucing up". For instance the toilet paper dispenser was a bit far from the toilet.

We stayed in the main lodge and our room was spacious. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom had a bath tub and shower although the tub was a bit small. There was an excellent view of Bras d'Or Lake from our room. There was access to the front lawn from the room and chairs located in front if you wanted to sun yourself or just relax outdoors. A swimming pool was available which we did not use. The dining room attached to the main lodge was bright and airy with a nice view of the lake. The meals were very good with a buffet served at breakfast or dinner based on the attendance of a bus tour. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Nothing to dislike from this one encounter.

We stayed in a pet friendly room (#44) which was the top row and at the end. The room was very spacious and the beds/ pillows were very comfortable. All the staff were great & helpful. The whole place has amazing grounds and views to put a smile on any face. We chose to eat in the restaurant for breakfast and the food was amazing as was the view!! There was lots of choice for breakfast and was great value for money. They have a little shop area in reception to grab snacks, water, juice and souvenirs. Baddeck itself is quaint, it was a Sunday so most places were closed but it’s a beautiful place. We’d stay here again.

Beautiful property overlooking Lac Bras d'Or. Rooms were large and very clean and had a lake view. Breakfast was quite basic with few healthy options, some cheese would have been appreciated. Staff were very friendly.

The original room was in an... old building, and ...like other old building, some things didn't work. Not going into details, minor issues, but the stuff was awesome, polite and transferred to other room, in a new building, which was pretty good, and cheaper !

The pool and deck was not kept well. Green stains on stairs and railing was loose. Weeds coming through patio stones. For the price of the room, a continental breakfast should have been included.

Wifi was intermittent, however considering where the hotel is located that’s not surprising. Rooms were a little musty, however there were plenty of windows to open that allowed for cross ventilation.

On the day of our arrival the hotel restaurant was closed, although a rest day is well deserved it said nothing about it in the ad. Since we have been travelling all day we would have appreciated staying in and eat there, let alone have a quiet drink ending the day - the bar is attached to the restaurant and was therefore closed as well. In such a remote location and in such a big house this came as a serious surprise.

Very well situated hotel at the city limit of Baddeck. It was very quiet and we had a beautiful view towards the water. The room was big and comfortable with a little terrace and two deck chairs.

Have returned multiple times to this place -- excellent on many levels. Well cared-for property, comfortable rooms and beds, excellent to have sitting chairs for reading, as well as outdoor chairs on the attached balconies. Restaurant on the property is good for breakfast and dinner. Short walk or drive into Baddeck for other amenities and options. Great view of the water, access to the highway and to the activities on the Cabot Trail.

A little way out of town.

Nice hotel in lovely grounds with great views of the lake. Room was a good size with very comfy beds. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
