Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLocation felt unsafe. Many homeless drug addicts around all the streets near the property. It was uncomfortable walking around the streets especially at night. No kettle on the kitchen and limited kitchen supplies despite there being a shared kitchen area. As a result we did not use the kitchen

NetherlandsNot the fault of the property, of course, but do avoid the northern street, is not a nice place to walk but again not at fault of the owner
Close to downtown Toronto, an easy 15-20min walk from Yonge St. House is good value for money, nothing fancy but it is a good option for a short stay

UkraineThere was some dust and a bit someone else's hair in the bathroom. The microwave in the kitchen didn't work and it was dirty. The floor creak, so you could hear the neighbors at night.
Good accommodation and the host responded quickly, and helped with questions. District was interesting and useful. Parking is good. The balcony is wonderful.

United StatesCentral location, about a 15-20 min walk to core downtown. Apartment had everything you need :) Shower is very small in the deluxe suite. It’s slanted because of the roof. Bed is comfortable. AC is unfortunately centrally controlled. Normal wear and tear on furniture

CanadaSilverfish and other bugs. Damaged shower fixtures that felt loose including doorknobs. Nowhere in bathroom to hang towels. Closet had 3 hangers. Thin walls and hardwood floors so you can hear other guests and upstairs people walking around. Bathroom dirty. Vanity had one leg bent or broken. Bed had no box spring. Balcony was full of leaves so could not use. Drug addicts in alleyway.
Clean towels and bedding. Responsive host. Parking available. Easy check in.

United KingdomVery basic room, only extra was a smart tv. everything was in need of an update, bed was uncomfortable, pillows not clean. Very noisy when upstairs moved around, cleaners banging around for an hour. Not the owners fault but streets around full of homeless and druggies, did not feel safe there. Only stayed one night and moved to a different place. Couple leaving in morning were doing the same.

United StatesThe neighbourhood was terrible. Lots of homeless and drug addicts roaming around the house at all times during the day and night. It was very sketchy and it felt very unsafe. My room was in the first floor and some people even knock on the window during the night. The host was nice and the house was ok, but giving the neighbourhood situation I would never ever recommend this accommodation.
The house was ok, spacious and over all clean.

United StatesThe house air conditioner was set low without a room fan so the windows were the only option for a breeze. With that said, it was a bit scary. Mainly because one end of the street fairly ok, but the other side was heavily dominated by homeless and drug zombies. This is a corner unit which immediately abuts a warehouse of some sort with a lot of late night activity. We left a day early.
The room was nice, clean, and the balcony was a fun addition. A room fan would make it more comfy. Bed was memory foam and supportive.

Costa RicaNosy italian guest speaking loudly late at night But that is not the hosts' fault.
It is a charming house in a very quaint, quiet street. Old neighborhood charm, very cozy. Easy to walk everywhere, and about a 30 minute walk from Union Station.

NetherlandsI have travelled extensively all over the world and don’t think I’ve ever felt this uncomfortable and uneasy as at this place. It’s in one of the worst areas in Toronto, the street outside the very run down house is full of zombie junkies and prostitutes so very scary to walk around. The young male host seems totally uninterested in making the place feel welcoming, our shower didn’t work and we got a shrug and told to shower in the room across the hall. Not that we could move in to that slightly less awful room, just shower there. Also it’s so echoey especially at night you get the feeling he can hear every conversation from his room upstairs. The house is also old and creaky. Then the hygiene. The place is absolutely filthy. Nothing has been deep cleaned for years, strange hair everywhere, stained rugs, grime and dirt on all surfaces, then the broken shower in our room had yellow crust in the cracks and corners. Three almost empty toilet rolls laying down in the dirty window next to the toilet. The the fridge and sink in the kitchen downstairs was disgusting and can’t be used. Could go on and on.. Paid almost 100 euro a night for this, both me and bookings have requested at least a partial refund but the guy doesn’t even reply. Avoid this place, it’s a rip off and an awful stay. Can’t even believe it’s on bookings at all that should have some sort of standard one could think.
I guess that none of the junkies didn’t break in to the house was good. And it didn’t leak rainwater.
