How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

This guess brought prostitute or illegal girls in middle of night at 12, We peacefully advised the guest to flash the ID of both Guest, the guest would not fill the agreement nor his he able to flash the ids to validate. We as the family in upstairs could not accept this kind of illegal guest. Since we did not check inn the guess for his bad illegal guest and nature of this stay, this guest is placing poor review. We wish not to have this kind of guest in any future too. Guest who really stayed in my guest house in past can vouch for the the respect and five start service we provide in our flat. Eventually we blocked this guest because of his illegal nature of stay in our flat. We will not entertain any guest of this kind even in future as well. As we feel that kind of earning in rental business is not required for us now or for ever. Host of Divine Hopes, Stev

Verified reviewThe location was perfect for where we needed to be. The hosts were lovely people, and the suite was just right for the two of us. Privacy was respected and good communication between us. The shower was a good size with a good height as well.
For me personally I like a softer bed, the bedding and room were great with extra heaters and fan.

Verified reviewSteve and his family are outstanding hosts. I felt welcomed like I would be a family member! They were helping me with all the small and big issues that are possible. I really enjoyed the stay as I need to mention that I am a frequent traveler that is away from home for about 250 days a year and this was a little sunshine in between all the hotels and key box apartments I have been the last decade. If i would ever return to Calgary I would give Steve a call and would be really happy to stay again over there and we could chat about everything that is coming to our minds. Very appreciated and all the best wishes for you guys and stay healthy 🙂

Verified reviewThis is a Comfortable, quiet and private basement with nice bathroom and kitchenette. It’s located in Silverado so a long way from downtown.
The kitchenette could be a little better equipped and a little cleaner (e.g. fridge).

They looked after me like a was a family member for years, food, picnics, bike, bus, taxi, train they organised everything for me. I van strongly recommend Silverado Steven Abode for everyone who want to visit Calgary en Spruce Meadows.

You don't even have a lock on the door to the basement. I was forced to sleep the night on the sofa because I wasn’t sure that no one would come to us. There was a strong feeling that the basement had not been cleaned before we moved in: there was a used bar of soap in the shower, the shower itself had not been washed, the muffins and croissants for breakfast were in open packaging that someone had already eaten from before us.
The basement is fully private and it has door fully securied. External doors were fully camera protected. If you did not like the flat, why you did not inform us and eventually cancel to refund your days stay? We always ensure the flat, linen and room are fully fresh and Tidy. We keep used bar of soap in corner of the bath room but on the Bathroom counter we keep all fresh soap with sealed soap cover. If you noticed any inconvenience why you did not inform us. We are sorry to inform you that you came with very bad attitude and irrespectful behavior. Your tone was not good even when we spoke to you to check at what time you want to check inn. Also you were very arrogent to even share the picture id, even when we said it is our policy to share id and emergency contact. Your kid was very disturbances whole day, whole night. You seems to be stressful because your kid was crying whole day. Hence we feel you have to go have a good medical check up of your scress issues and get well soon. Good luck and safe trip!
