Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaAlot of the resort had burnt down in 2014. The foyer and pool are very simple now. They had a coffee station near the reception, but when we asked for a coffee pod, they wanted 2 dollars. That was surprising!
Beautiful location and lovely restaurant on the lake. Staff were very friendly. Rooms are comfortable and immaculate.

CanadaThe staff is okay and the restaurant highly inconsistent in terms of food quality and overall service. I wish there were more water activities to do during the day.
Loved the swimming pool and entertainment for children. The rooms were clean and modern.

CanadaWe were a bit surprised that the Keurig coffee pods weren’t supplied, and also that there weren’t any evening activities offered at the resort itself.
The property is very well maintained, with the pool and beach just steps away from each other and the hotel. There’s never a shortage of things to do during the day, with a wide variety of activities to keep you entertained. The rooms are spacious and spotless, each with a balcony where you can sit back and enjoy a beautiful view of the lake. Overall, we had such a relaxing and enjoyable stay at Taboo.

CanadaThe washroom which seemed to be recently renovated was missing some accessories such as: a place to hang your towel after washing, a place to hang my toiletry case. Lack of greetings from staff at the restaurant. We asked the reception staff where we could have a light snack upon arrival, before dinner, and they never suggested the restaurant, but found out by ourselves that the restaurant offers lunch as well including light snacks. It would have been nice if they had suggested it, as we almost left the resort to find a place for it. The landscaping could use some work, especially near the front of the hotel, were they have the fire pit.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Taboo, it offers so many activities and it's location on Lake Muskoka is exquisite. The restaurant is well located by the water, the room was clean.

AustriaThe restaurant was entirely booked out on the first night which was a Monday. The staff said they'd sent msg's saying to book ahead, but we couldn't find anything. We went the second night and it was ok but not amazing. On check-in the staff member told us that the north dock wasn't meant for swimming, but it clearly is with stairs leading into the water. Glad we looked out our window and saw people swimming cuz it was the best place to get in the lake and we would've missed it had we just listened. The planned events aren't well-attended, maybe because we were there mid-week. We were looking forward to some volleyball, but no one came to that or the bonfire. Oh well.
Great location on Muskoka Lake. Most staff were very helpful and patient with our many questions. The room was really nice with our own fireplace! Loved that part! Good facilities too. We played tennis and the court was great. Pools like nice, though a bit unremarkable. We didn't use them cuz the lake was so nice. The beach itself was lovely except for all the seaweed. They let us checkout late too, which was lovely to have the extra hour.

United KingdomThere was nothing that we didn't like!
Amazing range of facilities in a brilliant lakeside location to meet all needs for an amazing experience and stay - three pools, beachside loungers and parasols; lots of activities on and off the lake. Excellent and helpful staff ready to address all requests.

CanadaWe were told we could bike around the golf course, but were told otherwise when we arrived, and the bike trail around that pond was closed. We hiked on foot on nearby trails but they would not have been good for regular biking … maybe for mountain biking by teens. Seems quite unusual to have pokers at the bonfire but no marshmallows for the kids.
The upper pool nearest the hotel was nice with the snack bar nearby and shade.

CanadaI didn't love the balcony. It was small and a little run down. The bar at the top was eye-line so interfered with the view a little bit. Additional food options would be nice.
I loved the room and the Lakeview. It was incredible. The beach was beautiful and the lake was gorgeous. Everything was super clean and staff were friendly. The bed was super comfortable too.
