How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewGreat location, a short walk to the gondola and easy walk into the centre of Whistler. We didn't use the car during our stay at all. Access to pool was great and it shut at a sensible hour, so there was no late night noise.
The room was very hot on our arrival, as it hadn't been used for a while, but it cooled down overnight with the fans running and the windows open, so it was fine after that.

The front desk was beyond useless—rude, unhelpful, and seemingly discriminatory, as they actively assisted local guests while ignoring us. We were never told check-in was self-service, leaving us stranded without guidance. Their vague booking confirmation mentioned an “online registration form” but failed to clarify it was mandatory for check-in, forcing us to scramble. Requiring credit card details again (despite Booking.com already having them) felt suspicious and poorly managed. The check-in took an unacceptable 45 minutes because the emailed instructions omitted the room access code. Even worse, the door code changed without warning on day two, locking us out. Their response? A flimsy claim about “system issues” and “effective communication,” despite our calls going to voicemail or dropping. Proactive communication means informing guests before issues arise, not dodging responsibility after. I’ve used Booking.com for 20 years, and this is hands-down the worst stay I’ve ever had. I’m filing a complaint and urge others to steer clear of this chaotic, unprofessional property.

Unfortunately, they are not able to assist with check in for our units, which added confusion on your part. The reason for the delay in receiving your arrival instructions was due to the online registration form not being completed ahead of time. This is a mandatory step prior to us providing the remote check in instructions. Verified reviewEverything. The condo had everything anyone could need, even a diffuser for the hair dryer, great for the curly haired gals. Provided enough coffee for a day or 2 so no need to shop immediately. Did not get to use the pool or hot tub this time but have in the past. People seem to enjoy the amenities. Parking was great. Even have outlets in the parking garage for Ebike charging
If you don’t like kids making noise, in the pool, hallways, this may not be for you.

Verified reviewIt is a nice location with an outside pool and hot tub.
It is declared as a suite for 6 adults, but it is only for 4 adults. The two „queen-size“ beds are only 90cm. Furthermore one of the beds weren’t prepared when we arrived. And there was no cover for one blanket. We asked for one but didn’t get one. The suite smelled of weed when we arrived and there were weed-left overs on the table.

Verified reviewIt gave me a nostalgic feel for family holidays I went on in the 90s and had a more genuine feel compared with some of the bland, modern rooms I'd looked at.
The check in experience was poor. I received multiple spam messages and marketing for future stays through Booking.com and also the email address I had to provide for pre-check in before I'd even stayed. There is no in-person check in and, despite what the instructions and app says, your room code is not provided through the 'portal' - you have to sit and wait for an email to be sent manually. It should be made clear that the "pre check-in" is actually the mandatory check in and that you have to provide your credit card details through a dodgy looking website. The room was not well maintained - handles tended to fall off and electricals not work but it was a fun stay nevertheless.

Verified reviewSpacious, well equipped condo a short walk to the Blackcomb gondola and town centre. Very comfortable, huge bed. Nice patio with bbq. Comfortable lounge area. Door opened with a key code and you register before and get it sent to you so no check in.
Car parking was expensive in an underground car park. There were no simple instructions for using the lounge tv only loads of complicated manuals. We couldn't sort it out so used small one in the bedroom.

Verified reviewLocation is conveniently located at the base of the Blackcomb Gondola. The ski valet is convenient, and the Jacuzzi/pool area is nice.
Bath towels could be replaced. Parking should be included.

Did not like anything. The carpet was dirty and has a hole. The mattress was uncomfortable. The couch was ripped, old, and uncomfortable. The extra pillow was ripped. One of the stove lementst was not working.. Booked for two nights but moved out just after the first night. The whole condo was never upgraded.

Verified reviewThe ease of check in/out. The apartment was beautifully remodeled ( looked like in the pictures) . The shower was very modern and well designed, the kitchen as well and the decor was crisp and elegant. And, although the apartment faced the interior courtyard and the pool/tub , it had a nice view of the Whistler mountain and the ski run.
Cleanliness of the fridge ( it had spills from prior tourists) and there was a stale, unpleasant smell in the apartment. These should be easy to fix via airing and inspecting the fridge and taking action . We had to take action ourselves
