How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified review- felt like a safe neighborhood - owners were responsive and accommodating - lots of space to move around/work/etc - well equipped - king bed - really clean
- there should be plenty of street parking but we weren’t able to find any nearby - we personally don’t like foam toppers on mattresses but understand some people do - some extra shower towels would be great

We appreciate your excellent rating. - As regards street parking, there is ample space on the street, for 4 cars just by our property, and for up to 10 cars when you cross the road (a 2-lane road). Apologies that your initial space just by the property was taken when you got back later at night, but we recall you were able to find parking just across. - We don't use a topper on our mattress. It is a high-quality Tempur Pedic mattress and doesn't need one. - As regards the towel, we have 4 bath towels in the suite, plus 2 hand towels and 2 face towels. We thought that would be okay for 1 night stay for 2 guests, but you could request more if needed. Hope these clarify the points raised. Thank you again for choosing The Jade Place.

Verified reviewI enjoyed the facility. But especially, when I had access to the basement. Using the kitchen, the treadmill, and Roku, I was happy to rest there after a long day hiking or watching the Stampede. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Verified reviewThe owner response was so quick and clear. The place was very clean and comfortable and seems new. Also the owner is living upstairs and welcome us when we arrived. He is very friendly and kind person. We cooked easy breakfast in the kitchen and there were everything you need include, cooking oil,salt and pepper ,tea, coffee and sugar. You can’t use many electricity staff( kettle and espresso machine together etc) together ,also there is not too much space on the counter so you can’t cook too much. We cooked easy breakfast include eggs ,hotdogs toast and coffee ,so it was ok. It was easy to go shopping, eating and schools, also nice and comfortably quite neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable too! We really enjoyed to stay ! Thank you.

The door does stick, so you have to almost body slam it to close.

The external door has a weather stripping around it to prevent snow and water from seeping through in extremely cold Albertan temperatures. Verified reviewJade Place is a basement apartment. It was very tastefully decorated and everything was top notch. From the pre visit messages, and checking in to see if I needed anything. 10/10 on service and response times, cleanliness, the comfort of the bed and the couch, laundry facilities for free, workout equipment, everything was provided and all 10 out 10. They have thought about everything! The only thing you need to do is arrive with your clothing and your groceries. As a solo female traveler what I liked a lot about this place was I felt totally secure here. TV free Roku channel, a lot of free channels, can sign into your own account for Netflix or Prime etc, if curling up in front of the tv is your thing. Shopping is a 15 minute walk or a 4 minute drive. Everything is new here. New builds, new neighbourhood, and everything in this apartment is new. Price was terrific. This place is quiet. It's not in the middle of all the action, but it is in the middle of all the sights or places you may want to visit when in the Calgary area. Would definitely stay again Thank you for having me.
