Lovely place for a stay. I spent just one night but was perfect. The room was cozy and the mattress really comfortable, on the firm side (just what I needed). Shared bathrooms are absolutely clean. There is a community kitchen which I did not use but great to know I could have. Check-in was super easy and independent which I appreciated because I arrived very late at night.

I just missed a hair dryer but the place was overall great.

Spotless, organized, comfortable hostel with amazingly equipped kitchen. The nicest hostel we have ever stayed in.

The rates are not hostel level. However, compared to other Vancouver Island accommodations, the bed/room rates were exceptionally reasonable.

The staff maintain the entire hostel with pride and care, creating a welcoming environment that's very comfortable. We love Cumberland town and this hostel location. Rooms are attractive and comfortable. Bathrooms are impeccably kept. Love the big common area with games tables and a pool table.

Location, price, staff

Kitchen and main room are spacious and well equipped. Nice concert in the backyard nearby, entrance by donation, you can bring your own buzz. Awesome Ukrainian band played. Lots of board games, kids were occupied. Modern washing machines with no coins. No TV!!! The vibe!!

It was nice cool despite heat. Location perfect, staff friendly and very clean!

Beds were a bit on the hard side and rooms a little small but overall it was great. A freezer would be great if you need ice

Excellent location in centre of town and close to the trails. Great staff and super clean.

Beautiful hostel located in the former general store. Lots of wood and character. Spotless. Good ratio bathroom per person. Very comfortable bed. The kitchen is very well equipped, including some basics such as salt and sugar. Lots of games in the common room. Free parking just outside.

There aren't infinite dinner possibilities in the neighborhood, so get organised! Also the quality of your sleep will depend on the kindness of your neighbours. Be considerate!

Kitchen was good equipped, rooms had everything we needed, bathrooms were clean and not busy.

Really well equipped kitchen, cozy common room with board games and pool table, secure bike storage, right next to the trails and close to the brewery and restaurants.

Staying at Riding Fools feels like being at home away from home! Perfect for work trips or for vacations. Welcoming and charming, I wasn’t disappointed by my second stay. Can’t wait to come back.
