Honestly, just that the stay wasn’t longer, we didn’t want to leave

We stayed here for my partner’s birthday, and it turned out to be even more special than we imagined. The cabin was beautiful, cozy, and perfectly decorated with so much care. It felt peaceful, tucked away in nature, and the owner Tom, was incredibly kind and welcoming. You can really tell they care about creating a great experience for their guests.

In the kitchen there were only utensils, no basic things for cooking as oil, salt … but the office have a little supermarket with salt, and pepper.

Very nice and peaceful location. The cabin was big and very comfortable. The kayak and paddle board were free. And everything was very clean.

We are an old couple and the double bed was difficult to climb on at night.

During the week there were very few people around and it was extremely peaceful. Many more started arriving for the weekend so we were happy to be leaving. The facilities are very good but the lower single cabins do not have the outdoor patio with a view. However we had no problem getting a lounge chair with a great view of the lake and easy access to great swimming or supply of boats or other floating stuff. It was a third time we spent some vacation there.

Our stay at The Trace at Oak Lake was nothing short of magical. What started as a quick stop on our motorcycle journey through the Highlands Loop turned into an unforgettable retreat that we couldn’t bear to leave. What a relaxing time and the kayak and boat facilities were a bonus to explore the lake.

It was a bit expensive for the type of accomodation. When the weather turned colder, the lower set cabins were cold and humid. Also, I was missing some basics in the kitchen, but nothing that couldn't be replaced with some trying.

It was very peaceful, beautiful settings on a great lake. The non-motorized boats were available free of charge, boards, paddle boats, canoes and kayaks. You could also rent a motor boat or fishing equipment, or do a yoga on the deck for a small charge.. The staff was very helpfull and pleasant.

A word of caution: be aware of the mosquitoes and bring your bug spray with you, especially now in springtime.

The Trace at Oak Lake is a perfect destination for a relaxing weekend. The highlight is a paddle tour on the lake, which features several islands to explore. With minimal boat traffic, it’s an ideal spot for a peaceful paddle and a refreshing swim. The Nordic spa is a fantastic addition, providing a great way to unwind after a day on the water.

Bathroom was tiny but expected for a cabin experience. The stay in a 2 bedroom cabin might be tight for 4 adults.

Beautiful location right on the lake. Comfy beds, the cabin kitchen was well stocked, lots of facilities on premises like kayaks, indoor/ outdoor games etc.

Staff could supply or ensure can openers in all cottages and Suites. Had to borrow one from another guest.

Great place to relax and unwind. Staff is Exceptional. Owner was very helpful to me. If you have a dog who likes other dogs , and likes people, then this is the place for you to enjoy the Canadian wilderness. You and Your dog will love it. Recommend you stay in one of the cottages. Lots of activities available. Remember to bring all your food supplies as you are some distance away from stores. Cottages and Suites are fully equipped for cooking and there is a small shop with some supplies available. Will stay again. Highly recommend
