How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Shared amenities not cool.
Hi Perry and Rebecca, Thank you for the review, a few questions though. Could you let me know (and I would really appreciate that) why the 5 for cleanliness? What was not up to standard, regarding cleanliness. We would like to know what we had missed so we can improve if needed. And please let me know why the 5 for facilities. What did you miss during your stay? Same thing, if there are things we can add for our guests (within reason) to make the cabin/property more attractive we would like to know! "Shared amenities not cool" does not really tell me anything, Your cabin, just like all others has a private bathroom (in the separate located comfort station) and the new shared kitchen should not be a surprise as it is mentioned several time in the listing and the info you receive before checking in. If you expected a fully self contained vacation home, you probably did not read the description or look at the pictures. We do have a rental like that, The Sleeping Moose Cottage, on the same property but that is in a different price range. Ohhh And could you let me know what happened with the information binder that was in the cabin. It was gone after you checked out. Take care and would really appreciate some answers to my questions. Verified reviewThe location is easy to find, host Ton super nice, provided detailed instructions before we arrived and also available on site for helping us to check in. Cabin super clean and lovely, comfort station is newly renovated with kitchen and bathroom - hot shower provided. The most amazing is the path to beach, beautiful ocean views and highly recommend for the sunrise. We also see seals in the morning!!

Verified reviewDelightful, tidy, clean, comfortable all wood tent cabin. The loft space is cute and cozy. Attentive and accommodating host who makes an excellent breakfast. Many touches, details for comfort and convenience - small bbq, fire pit, Adirondack chairs, broom, extension cord, cards, bug repellent, etc. Dedicated washroom and fridge and utility kitchen very much appreciated. beach is a large stone beach, not for lying down, but Vast Water view and rural setting perfect for detachment.
Black flies season, but thankfully bug repellent provided!

A lovely walk to the beach and the most amazing pannekoek for breakfast and some of the best coffee on the island! Don't miss the breakfast in the Cafe!

Verified reviewThe rooms were very clean, comfortable and super warm , we had to lower the heat. The person in-charge was super helpful. We were hungry and all the restaurants closed around 7.30 . He went out of the way to make sandwiches for us even when the Moose cafe (on property)was close. Merci beaucoup !!

Verified reviewAmazing stay here! Ton went above and beyond to support our group. We travelled with friends from abroad, and they had an amazing experience. Having a fire next to the beach at night as you could hear the waves crashing was a highlight of the trip. As a Nova Scotian, I will definitely be coming back again, and recommending this place to friends. I have backpacked around the world, and I especially loved how they have their communal kitchen and bathroom set up with each cabin having their own bathroom and shower, and mini fridge. The cabins are gorgeous, and I had a delicious chilli from the cafe on site. Beautiful path to the beach, and if you wake up early, you can even catch the sun rise. Ton is also very knowledgeable about the area, and as a group who was going with the flow, he made some great recommendations for our travels. Thank you so much, ZzzzMoose!
