Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesI was a bit bummed that the pool by the lake was closed. Outside patio areas attached to villas needed to be power washed. Would have liked to see Bob's Boathouse bar open. It looked a bit abandoned.
Loved the 2 bedroom Lakeview room. Extremely clean inside. Very comfortable beds! Kitchen has everything you need. Also, nice to have a washer and dryer. View was absolutely amazing!! Infinity pool was awesome! Also, great exercise room! Loved going to the spa for a facial. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Sitting down by the Lake was beautiful and peaceful. Restaurant, Touchstone Grill, was AMAZING! Food was absolutely wonderful!!

CanadaThe driveway was very dark. Considering that you have to drive from the suite to the main chalet for dinner, it would have been nice to see where we were going. It would also be nice to have a little carpet for our wet shoes when we walk into our actual suite. There was one in the little vestibule but I wouldn’t take my shoes off and leave them there.
There was plenty of space. The suite was beautiful, and clean.

United StatesSmall things. A full length mirror would be great. Maybe inside a closet. The shower liner needs to be washed. Tops for the pots would help with cooking. Maybe add some sleighs for winter activities since the lake wasn't frozen enough for ice skating. Lights along pathways to see while driving and walking. The entrance to the door needs to be sealed/get a bottom sweeper so the cold air doesn't come in.
Staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. The room was amazing. We stayed in a one bedroom. The grounds are beautiful even during a extremely snowy week.

CanadaJust not enough snow plows to clear the driveway and walkway faster. Too high of snow to walk around. Wish we could see more of the place.
Nice luxurious unit with 4 bedrooms perfect for our family trip of 9 people. In spite of the unexpected snow storm and power outages here and there, we still enjoyed our time and experience. The resort accommodated us well.

CanadaThe room smelt like the previous occupants cooking and that smell stayed in the room the whole time we were there even with fans going, the patio door open and candles lit. I would have preferred management put an air freshener in the room prior to our arrival. Also the fan in the bedroom was too loud to use at night so maintenance should look at that. There is no privacy on the balcony as well as it's shared with your neighbours. You get a half wall between but when you look out over the balcony railing your neighbours can see you. You can also hear guests above you or in the shared hallway. The food at the Touchstone Grill was average and nothing super fancy and I found my halibut meal quite bland in flavour. A couple bottles of water for guests in the room would be great to have as well - most hotels offer guests bottled water. If you want water bottles, you have to pay cash only at the front desk so bring your own from home!
The location was amazing. Beautiful spot. Great amenities even in the colder months. We took full advantage of the outdoor jacuzzi, indoor steam and sauna and the outdoor fire pit. The resort provides everything for a fire and the wood is always well stocked! They have Muskoka chairs down at the beach on the dock and it's really nice to sit out there. The bed in the suite was super comfortable and great pillows too. The couch was very comfortable for lounging as well. All amenities in the room (besides the loud bedroom fan!) were really great! Had a lovely massage at the Amba Spa by Bonnie - she was really great and I achieved exactly what I was looking for there. I would go back again 100%!

CanadaAs we had booked the stay from Sunday to Monday there was no restaurant in the resort that was serving food. We had to drive a 10mins drive to get to the nearest food location. Would have appreciated the restaurant within the resort to be functional to avoid the drive.
It is a nice isolated place with a great view and great home away from home. The studio suite was great. The lake view, ease of check-in and check-out were appreciated.

CanadaTouchstone is a beautiful property by Lake Muskoka and a quick drive away from Bracebridge and Port Carling. Our room was spacious with the perfect number of amenities for us as we have a 6-month old. We requested the reception to provide daily cleaning and they did not disappoint. Keep up the fantastic work, team Touchstone! I am looking forward to bring my family back here in the future

CanadaThey don’t tell you that their units are owned by different people under the umbrella of the resort, so every unit is different. It’s essentially an Airbnb. We found a closet of other people’s sweaters, cleaning supplies and half-full jars of various liquids. Housecleaning didn’t clean the fridge or freezer out at all - there were multiple hairs in both. We were given a late check out and housekeeping came knocking early and entered the unit without our answering the door and seemed surprised we were still there. Every staff member we encountered was standoffish and didn’t make you feel very welcome. Main pool is very small and has only one shower/bathroom stall, which was filthy- the shower was covered in blood when we entered the stall. Overall, much too expensive for what you receive.
Beautiful area. The dock by the boathouse restaurant is very nice.

United StatesThere was nothing we didn't like, we only have some suggestions for taking things to the next level! It is difficult to navigate the resort in the dark, so it would be helpful to have more nighttime lighting, especially for the building names and room numbers. Offering breakfast would be a wonderful addition (though we were fine making our own breakfast in our kitchenette and going out in Bracebridge). And rain shower heads would make the bathrooms even more luxurious!
We loved so many things about our stay at Touchstone! First and foremost, the location on Lake Muskoka is fantastic, and the views—especially down by the water—are truly beautiful. We had a studio and felt that the accommodations were modern/updated while still managing to foster a cozy, rustic vibe. We especially loved the fireplace, the comfortable bed, and the sleek tiled wall in the bathroom. We were delighted that our studio was really more of a one bedroom, with the bed in a separate room from the living area. And there was even a washer and dryer in the unit! Everything was sparkling clean for us when we arrived. Thank you to all at Touchstone who helped make our stay so wonderful. It was the perfect couple getaway/babymoon!

The four bedroom unit was spacious, well designed and comfortable. It was a perfect place for a family get together. The lake view, and facilities were great. Access to a sauna and a hot tub was an added bonus.

CanadaRoom had a few cleanliness issues but it's ok. Just cleaned the coffee off the cupboards, threw out the forgotten garbage, and dusted a bit. Coffee maker and light in living room were broken but nothing you can't manage
This is a beautiful, peaceful place. The resort is beautiful and just an absolute pleasure to be. You almost don't want to leave. The fall colours are amazing and you don't even miss the pool in off weather because of the ability to walk or go to a fire. The staff and other guests were all very polite. Great stay. Thank-you.
