Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaIt could have been better if it was a brand new Hilton, guess what, its not that. Missing a pool and hot tub, or maybe that doesn't really matter either. Get out and see how the real word lives
Tucked away on the side of the lake, on the way to somewhere. Just a step back in time, where the locals meet and sit under a giant tree to tell stories, and invite you to join the conversation. If you want luxury you miss the point, clean and safe from the storm, happy staff waiting to take care of you. Simple small town charm with a big heart

Location was central, owner was lovely and outdoor patio area under a huge maple tree was pleasant.

CanadaNo air conditioning in rooms. A challenge to get the provided fan in the right location to move air properly with the bed located under the open window. Im certain its not a common problem for the facility as we are at higher elevations.
Convenient location in a small community, relaxed atmosphere. Restaurant owner was a delight.

CanadaI had to get back before 8 pm as the pub closed!! Not their fault - you can’t run a pub with no customers but it’s a nice pub so perhaps they could promote it more - I wonder if all guests even knew about it!
Great staff, a lovely friendly lady served me my great breakfast each day and the weather was good so I could sit outside, great dinners in the pub with the very pleasant barman, Kirk, who stayed open late to meet my needs. Safe parking for my motorcycle. The place really grew on me and the area is lovely. The roads to Slocan and to Kaslo are perfect.

United StatesI’m not positive but I think the rooms are all upstairs. We were in 119 and had to climb a flight to get there. Not a bad thing by any means but I don’t know if they had an elevator? It was late and was too tired to look lol
The hotel is old but very very clean. We got an actual key for the room! While the rooms are modest and simple- there was a coffee station and a mini fridge available. The beds were comfortable- and the room was dark and silent. We slept very well. In the morning we opened the curtains and there were mountains and blues skies. The hotel is family owned and operated. We rolled in a little after 9pm and the owner kept their attached restaurant open to serve us dinner (even after it was closed and they were all cleaned up and ready to be done for the night). Best darn burger I had in a long time. I would stay there again.

CanadaIt’s an older Inn, and if you’re looking for a fancy boutique style place to stay this is not the place. We were quite happy there for a couple nights and a very last minute booking!
Location was close to family at Summit Lake. Room was quiet, even though we were near highway 6. Clean sheets and hot water, nice little kitchenette plus dishes. Fridge coffee pot and sink. Lots of parking, well lit hallways. The staff were exceptionally friendly and kindly accommodating. Restaurant food was hot and reasonably priced.

CanadaThe comforter cover was a bit worn and older - could use a refresh. No wifi available in the rooms - just in the main public areas.
Very honest, friendly, and welcoming staff. Room was basic, but clean and comfortable. The food at the pub was tasty and the server was welcoming and friendly (the restaurant and pub have the same menu if you're wondering). Despite having no AC and the outside temperature being very hot (+35 C), the room stayed surprising cool, and the fan in the room was sufficient to keep things comfortable. Well located and only a short walk to the beach.

United StatesThe shower head was a little low for anyone over 6ft. Parking lot out front is limited but extra parking is close.
The staff tried very hard to make us comfortable by setting up a portable A/C unit in the room during the extreme heat wave New Denver was experiencing. Unfortunately the power went out due to lightning from a thunderstorm -- several fires were also caused by the lightning. I would stay here again, its a beautiful location and town.

CanadaThe Inn is an older building, but the rooms were clean, and the beds comfortable. The main surprise was the restaurant attached to the Inn that was excellent for breakfast lunch and dinner. The staff of the Valhalla were very personable and we enjoyed our interactions with them. Wonderful gem for a place the size of New Denver.
