How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Verified reviewRoom had adequate space for a family of 4. A/C worked well and wasn't too loud. Included breakfast was cook to order (delicious and good portion), though there were only 3 options to choose from. Comfortable beds. Short drive to Wells Gray park.
Couldn't find an elevator and our rooms were on the second floor, so had to lug our stuff over a couple flights of narrow stairs. Free breakfast only came with 3 options, but made fresh by chef. Exterior of the building is dated, but interior is updated. Would be nice to have 2 queen beds instead of 1 queen and 1 double.

Food poisoning from the restaurant
Hello Sophie, With regards to your review message on booking.com,we are really sorry to hear about your food poisoning. We had our food inspection a week ago, which was conducted by the health and safety department and our restaurant/kitchen was declared as one of the best in town.Health safety is our first priority.The food which is served to the customer is prepared fresh and on daily bases.We never preserve any food which is left behind and everything goes in garbage. We have checked with the restaurant Manager and the food which was served to you was prepared fresh at same time.We do try to make our guest comfortable and we take these kind of health issues seriously.We are assuming it might be from some other restaurant before you checked in at our property?We never had this kind of issue before, as you can see all our reviews are positive and people love our food.There could be delays in serving food because of short staff which is being dealt with,but we never had any complaints till date regarding our food and its quality. Verified reviewOur room was quiet and had everything we needed for a 1 night stay. Reception staff were friendly, efficient and helpful and we were allocated a quiet room (as we had requested), and having breakfast provided was also good, and the wait time was not too long at this time.
The AC unit was quite noisy but at least it worked Service at the restaurant was very slow at dinner time. We planned to eat there, but after taking a seat we heard other patrons saying they had been waiting a long time to be served, so we left.

Dusty parking lot and from the outside on first arrival it was difficult to determine the entrance for the office. Needed to drive all around the building once to figure out its location. After that all was simple.

In general, a buffet style breakfast is preferable in my opinion than a voucher for a restaurant, that eventually takes more time. This is a minor criticism of course.

Verified reviewThis inn is located not too far from Jasper park, which was very convenient for our trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and offered everything we needed for the stay. The breakfast concept was a bit unusual for a hotel with ordering from the menu and quite a long wait time; however, the food was very nice.
The room we were staying in required some renovations; we were told by the staff that they were planning to renovate the entire inn in the near future.

Verified reviewConvenient location close to highway for travelling home. The included breakfast was excellent. Served piping hot and very flavourful. The server was on her own and provided exceptional service.
It was a bit noisy with a group of adults allowing their children to run up and down the hallway while they visited very loudly in their rooms. We contacted the front desk and they took care of it immediately. Some attention to cleaning details is needed. The bathroom fan was very dirty with dust showing. The air conditioner was noisy and was not really working.
