The room is a bit dated, but it's part of the charm. It would have been amazing if the beds were more comfortable (queen-size for couples, instead of two separate bed frames). I would be willing to pay more for that. The curtain showers could also be replaced by a glass structure. The breakfast could be amazing if there were more fruits + eggs.

This is a very convenient place for those who want to stay in the center of Morcote; the room was spacious (great ceiling height), modest, but good (e.g., functioning AC). To reach the room, you must cross the restaurant, but everything is very well-organized, and the staff is very nice. The view of the lake from the room is simply superb. The fact that they have a "private beach" (approximately a 15-minute walk away, but with a great sunbathing platform in the lake) is also a plus.

Because of its historic age it’s understandable that there are lots of stairs and the rooms are small and old fashioned. We loved it, it’s a real old coaching house.

Actually, there were no slippers in the room, and the TV didn't work properly

The breakfast was quite basic. Nothing special. Would maybe not pay the 15 CHF again.

It’s truly a local hotel within the small village of Morcote. We stayed only one night for which it was more than adequate. Some of the rooms and interior are a bit dated. Feels a bit like a visit back in time. Although we didn’t eat at the restaurant, it looked great.

There was a very strong cleaner fluid smell that we solved by moving it. I didn’t know there would be a kitchenette, so that was nice, but the sink wasn’t working.

The only thing that could have been better is if we could have stayed another night and taken a boat ride.

Charming ALbergo with a lovely location, nice staff, good food and quaint simple accommodations. I prefer smaller boutique hotels, family run all the better. No bus groups will show up here. We took the bus into Lugano for the afternoon. And loved walking the old village of Morcote.

Nothing, our stay was perfect. We'd love to come again!

The location and building were perfect. Our room was a great size and layout, with kitchen and large bathroom. Staff were very friendly and accommodating during check-in and check-out. We enjoyed the convenience of the parking space in the nearby public parking (which was in great condition), and the drop off zone for 10mins just outside the hotel entrance. We did not eat at the restaurant but the menu looked to have variety. We did enjoy a drink on the lake terrace, which was lovely.

All was good. You only need to climb up the stairs with your luggage as there are no lifts.

We stayed here for three nights in June 2024. The room was spacious and comfortable with a wonderful view of the lake. The hotel is charming and the staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The pizza is one of the best I have ever had and the village of Morcote is very beautiful and tranquil. I would be very happy to stay here again.

Very kind staff, pets allowed, unbeatable location in Morcote, right in front of Piazza Grande bus stop. Restaurant is very cute with 4 areas to choose from: first floor overlooking the lake, main dinning room next to the bar, a sunny terrace outside and an amazing platform on top of the lake itself. Definitely coming back!

Climbing three stairs with our luggage was the only issue we had.

Great hotel, friendly staff, nice room and a nice breakfast - dinners and serving staff were amazing. The location is perfect with a garage nearby and the boat tour leaving in front of the property.

The rooms provided were at the back of the hotel and had very little light and were old. I would stay in lake facing rooms instead

The breakfast was good with variety. Restaurant is really good with good service. They also provided a card for parking at chf15 per day which is good. The parking is however a good 5 minutes walk. There is also free access to private bathing area on the lake which exceeded my expectations

The staff was able to help me in English arrange my bus and train schedule back to Lugano. Very helpful. The restaurant was very nice and especially good value with great location.
