Reviews of Hotel Alexandra 3 stars

I made a reservation for a room for my family seven months in advance, and I have a lot of experience in hotel reservations, we usually go there several times a year. And we got a room without a toilet and without a shower in the room. They told me everything is written in the small print and I think it is a shame and disgrace to give a room without the basic things like a toilet and a shower. Yes, they moved me after two nights, of course at an additional cost. It is a shame in my opinion.

The house with a garden is beautifully renovated and well maintained. It also offered nice Parking. The hotel took good care of my late arrival. In addition, I would like to highlight that the hotel arranged for the purchase of public transport tickets for the train and bus. The staff was really friendly.

I didn’t like the design of the attic rooms – in more than half of the room, the ceiling is so low that you can’t shake off a claustrophobic feeling (the only window is small). In addition, six rooms share one shower and one toilet. Although the price of these attic units is lower, it’s not low enough.

The third floor is a little low to get in. A shared restroom and shower might be takes getting used to although it wasn’t a problem to me.

The staff are so nice and professional, they lest us keep our luggage until our train was scheduled even after check-out! Breakfast was really good.

We stayed on the last floor and unfortunately shared the bathroom with some of the other guests, which left the bathroom and the shower very unclean, which is the responsibility of the guests to clean after themselves… Not really the fault of the hotel, but would upgrade to private bathroom next time.

The staff were lovely and welcoming, the building itself was beautiful and tastefully decorated. The shared bathroom situation was incredibly clean and well done. We also really enjoyed the breakfast (croissant, breads, eggs, meats and cheese, yogurts, cheese, juice, coffees, etc.) and the outdoor seating. Small room but very cozy and we slept great. The price is also comparatively low to other places in the area. Well located with a bus station directly outside and easy walk down to the lake.

I could not give a better rating to the Hotel Alexandra. Staff and the place were amazing!

This Place is very charming, the staff is very welcoming and warm. The manager/owner loves this place and it shows. Our room was very clean and had a nice view over the lake. The location is great, just a couple of minutes from the lake. I really enjoyed the coffee, it was good quality, same as the breakfast, the honey was delicious. It would be helpful to have some sort of hangers or a chair in the shared shower to place the personal belongings.

Room too small and low-lofted. With so few guests it wouldn't have been a big sacrifice for the management to upgrade the booking to a better room.

The communication with the staff is excellent they are all responsive at all times, the location is great the view in our room is stunning we enjoyed the breakfast. We recommend this hotel for group of friends of family who wants to have a nice vacation in locarno😊
