How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewPerfect location in the town center; nice breakfast; generally friendly staff and nice room. As a plus, we could park the electric car in the garage and charge (at cost). Great bar and bar lady. All in all, great stay!
Certain staff at breakfast were particular (arrogance, doing a character after a request). This was later apologized for by restaurant manager and my wife got her decaf cappuccino as requested. For restaurant one needs to go to main street (2-5 mins. walk)

- The room was very functional and a nice size for a sport hotel. The bed was great, but it would have been nice to have more confortable chairs and a rug. Maybe our room lacked these things because it was a dog-freindly room.

Verified reviewThe staff was rude.. Charged an additional 83 and 74 chf per day for 2 kids under 9 and 11. They called the police when we wanted to pay 50 chf each as per what was mentioned in the booking.com booking confirmation and refused to realize our bags. Also making insulting and racist comments saying they would not confirm bookings by a certain race of people again !!!! Once the police came they also agreed with us and said it was a civil matter and they could not be involved. The front desk receptionist was outrageous, loud and totally inhospitable. It is the worst stay we have ever had ever inspite of spending almost 1100 dollars a night for 3 rooms for a 3 star hotel.
Dear Vani First of all we want to thank you for choosing Hotel Allegra. In 16 years as a hotel manager and more than 30 years in the international hospitality industry, I never met a situation like the one yesterday upon your checkout. Instead of accusing us being loud, racist and insulting - which was never the case - as we are well-educated, well-trained and courteous by character, you should mention here, that you did show up on arrival day with more guests than originally booked. We managed in a very professional way to adapt your booking accordingly in order to provide appropriate accommodation for you and your family and you were well informed by myself regarding higher rates due to extrabeds and changing one room from single to double occupancy. You accepted, checked-in and enjoyed our hospitality. We even did not charge you for lunchbags, which you packed daily from our breakfast buffet, filling up plastic bags in a way that we had several of our other guests reporting that misbehaviour to us. We organized dinners, ski rentals with several discount vouchers, booked ski tickets, checked for about two hours train connections, seat reservations etc for your ongoing journey and you are accusing us for being inhospitable ? As the situation escalated upon check-out, you not wanting to pay the final bill, we were forced to call the police in order to save us from being treated in an in-acceptable way and being accused as liars. A respectful way of conversation, even having different opinions, is essential in our culture and being treated like inferiors is not to be accepted. Verified reviewWe arrived in the evening and needed to eat dinner, but the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, so the receptionist called another hotel and made a reservation for us. We didn’t realize that the restaurants in Pontresina require reservations and are usually fully booked. We would not have had dinner otherwise.

We didn’t get the info that it should have been compulsory to reserve a parking slot in advantage and there was no space for our car. Had to use the public parking hall.

Dear Thomas thank you for staying with us at Hotel Allegra and for leaving us your kind review. Good to know that you were happy with your choice of hotel and with all offers and services provided. Thank you as well for your kind words regarding our team. As for the few negative points mentioned: in all rooms we provide shampoo and shower gel of high quality ( lots of guests even buy it to take it home ) as well as hand soap, a nail file plus a vanity set, tissues and face cloths. This is above the usual 3 star standard - we would have been happy to learn what else you had expected. Due to sustainability reasons, we do not have fridges/minibars in our room, however as our hotel bar is open from 7am to midnight, drinks are always available, either to enjoy in the bar or to take up to the rooms. The size of our tv's certainly is sufficient, however we do absolutely respect individual opinions and personal requirements. Verified reviewThe breakfast was wonderful. The room was very nice. The hotel is lovely. The staff were very helpful. My husband made use of the laundry facilities. I think this was the only hotel we stayed in (and there were several) that had a washer and dryer.
The only downside was the walk from the train station to the hotel. It was uphill, which was somewhat difficult for older folks with heavy suitcases. We should have gotten a taxi or let them know to pick us up. They very helpfully dropped us off at the end of our stay.

Verified reviewLovely hotel with really knowledgeable and friendly staff. Loved the Endagin travel pass. Very nice breakfast with lots of choice. Room was quiet, spacious and spotless. We drink tea rather than coffee and a kettle was provided on request. Heated outdoor pool with fantastic mountain view was also great.
Nothing much to report. A small fridge for milk and wine would have been really useful.

Verified reviewGreat location in Pontresina next to Alp Languard lift and best hike in the area. Manager and front desk staff were exceptional. All spoke many languages and offered helpful recommendations. The snow card was terrific providing free local bus train lift transportation. The hotel is adjacent to great pool complex. Highly recommended!
