Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandBreakfast is very basic. Would be nice to have little bit more options and at least make sure there is yoghurt every day.
Great location and very convenient for anyone wanting to enjoy the slopes as much as possible. Rooms are not luxurious but spacious and offer all you need. Note that it isn't a standard hotel but the restaurant around a good and being on the top of the mountain in a small, remote and quiet little town is a cool experience

BrazilNo negative comments.
Alpenlodge Kuhboden is located in the building of the cable car from Fiesch. You can leave the car on the parking of the cable car. It is therefore very suitably located if you have some luggage. From the rooms at the valleyside you have beautiful views of the valley, although in some rooms the windows are rather high. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is good, but does not provide much options. The lodge does not serve dinner, but several options are nearby.

SwitzerlandPeople who expect a room with balcony or beautiful mountain sight micht be disappointed. Some nighttime noise from the cable car transporting the Sunrise watching guests to the top - at 5 am. But not dramatic.
This is a place where you want a bed in a warm room, to stay overnight. I was there for hinking in Summer. Restaurants available in the vicinity (in Winter: right below). Location IN the building block of the middle station of the cablecar. Self service bar available on the floor.

United KingdomA bit more expensive than we'd have liked, but it must cost a lot to run a hotel half way up a mountain, so for one night it was worth the money.
It was fun going up to the hotel by cable car and arriving to find cows all around (including one which tried to get into the hotel). Rooms were nice and modern with a reasonable number of electric sockets which could be used with standard European plugs. Good choice for breakfast.

AustraliaNothing really. It was perfectly positioned to hike the Panaorama Trail.
Breakfast was awesome although not available until 9 am which may be a little late for a hiking destination.

United KingdomA bit basic rooms but totally ok for the price. Quiet in general but loud cowbells under the windows in the early morning. To be expected though and atmospheric, I didn’t mind it. One point more to do with booking.com app: I payed more at the end than the app has shown because the app hadn’t done the payment (maybe my fault as I didn’t realise I had to do another click at the bottom once our stay started. Assumed that the booking was done. Then I had to pay with card at the checkout and it was about €40 more with the exchange rate.
Quick to reach from the valley. Good breakfast and helpful friendly staff.

United StatesCool little place for easy access to hiking in the Aletsch Arena. The rooms are quite small and the views from the Eggishorn side are quite poor, but the easy access to terrain is great. The restaurant that is part of the lodge is great for breakfast and lunch, but closes at 17:00 which is quite early for dinner so you have to make plans to eat elsewhere. Staff were helpful and accommodating for check in past open hours. Fiescheralp feels like a ghost town near sunset as there are only about 3 occupied hotels open for the season. If you enjoy peace and quite this is the perfect place to stay for a few days.

SwitzerlandThe room temperature is way too hot. It was impossible to sleep, we had to open a window which is quite a paradox on the mountain in the middle of winter and surrounded by snow.
Location is super, check in process is smooth. Room very simple but has everything one might need.

CanadaIt reminded me of university dorm rooms — utilitarian. It is not a luxurious hotel but it is good if all you plan to do is sleep in the room.
A simple, clean place to stay overnight on the mountainside in Fiescheralp. Christian the manager was very kind and carried my heavy suitcase to and from my room as it was all stairs to get to the rooms.
