The hotel is a bit dated, and despite being a more affordable option, still quite expensive for what you get. Breakfast is reasonable, although they serve canned fruit salad. I had indicated that I would like to bring my dog, but nobody told me in advance that they would charge an additional CHF25 per night. This is definitely not in line what others (even more expensive hotels) are charging, and in some you get a blanket and bowl as well. It would maybe take 5 more minutes to clean the tiny single room that I was in after using it with the dog.

The walls were thin and we could hear doors opening and closing and luggage being dragged down the hallway to the elevator from early morning hours... midnight, 1:00 am, 4:00 am, 5:00 am. I would probably book elsewhere if we were planning a longer stay in Zermatt because of noise consideration.

We spent one night in room 11. The location of the hotel is very good and easy to find, just a 5 minute walk from the train station and walking distance to literally everywhere in Zermatt. The room had a large balcony, separate sitting room and good sized bathroom, it was by far the largest room we had during our 3 week trip. It was clean and spacious with good linens and towels. The breakfast wasn't bad - kinda of basic - breads, cereal, a few meats and cheese, coffee/tea/juice - we were a bit rushed to get up the mountain to enjoy the clear, sunny day. (Which was SPECTACULAR btw.)

Rather dated, small room, it was hot & there was no fan. There were no hot options for breakfast. Reception is in a hotel across the road which is not ideal.

When we arrived we were confronted with steps but the staff were so lovely and took our luggage upstairs and then into the lift - very helpful Our room was very nice and lovely view from the balcony of the Matterhorn which was great. Our friends didnt quite have our nice view. The breakfast was very nice and the staff very helpful too.
