How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bathroom should have glasses and pegs for towels.
Quirky property - old style house with low ceilings. Large room and comfortable bed. Very clean. Coffee machine in the room. The restaurant was great - good service and tasty food.

Room poorly apponted with nowhere to place your gear. Room has bed only. Very low head height, particularly on the shower. Room on top of a pizza restaurant, which made it a bit noisy.

We did book a room in advance and paid for it. Later when we arrived to the hotel, the staff (looked like the owner) basically asked us what we were doing there, we told him that we had a reservation in the hotel. He checked it up and told us that there were no rooms available anymore. Worst thing is, he didnt give a simple proper solution to our problem and just said (shit, im sorry). Not trustable, I wouldnt come back to this place.

Very low sillings (less than 178cm in the entire room), had to bend to take a shower. Isolation is really bad too: felt like clients upstairs were stepping on us while walking in the room, the entire floor cracks and is really really loud.
Location and friendly staff. Cheaper than many other options.

Room, too high noise from outside. Shared shower and bathroom. Ceiling was too low, had to walk in forward bend. No soap or shower gel, or any hygiene kit. "Queen size bed" not big enough for two adults.
Staff was nice and friendly, that's it.

The room we stayed in was beautiful, big and very well maintained. The owners are kind and nice. We also had dinner at the Osteria downstairs and the food was so good, totally recommend!!!

Ceiling height in the hallway
I can’t express how grateful we are for the incredible hospitality we experienced at this hotel. We arrived drenched from a heavy rain and asked for an early check-in. Despite the odd hour and no staff being physically present at the hotel, they went above and beyond to find a solution and ensure we received our keys without any hassle, and it was all free of charge! Our situation didn’t end there—every piece of clothing we had was soaked. The hotel personnel were absolute lifesavers, taking all our wet garments and putting them into a drying machine. This kind gesture was just what we needed after such a rough start to our day. As if that wasn’t enough, we were sitting in our room with no dry clothes when the hotel staff brought us a pan full of hot tomato soup. It was incredibly delicious, rich with herbs, and it warmed us right up. This thoughtful touch truly made our stay unforgettable. Considering the extremely low price of our stay, we expected something really simple and maybe even a bit shabby. However, it was completely the opposite! The service and amenities were outstanding. We can’t recommend this hotel enough. Their attention to detail and dedication to guest comfort is unparalleled. Thank you for turning a miserable day into a memorable stay!

No TV in the room. If you are more then 1,75 high you have to pay attention to your head. No breakfast but there is a good pastrie nearby. Close to train. Only short curtains to close the windows.

Location was superb - bang opposite the Niederteufen train station. This made commute very easy for me as I had to catch a train for St. Gallen the next morning. I really liked how spacious and comfortable the room was.
