Parking is bit narrow for non-experienced drivers, reception doesn't work after 5PM so they leave you keys in keybox on the side entrance

Did not know it was associated with some form of nursing home. I am old enough to possibly be in a nursing home so I’m not being critical except to say it would’ve been nice to know beforehand.

Hotel restaurant open just till seven. Not a big deal really, but it was heavily rainying and we´d prefer to have dinner at hotel

I returned to thew Hotel late in the evening and the doors were closed and locked. I managed to go through the Car Park and get inside, but only then did I see that guests need to go to the rear of the building to get access late at night - this information should be posted on the front door.

The stairs to the reception were a bit narrow, but there is a lift, so no worries about bring up your luggage. We walked the stairs, nevertheless when we do not have luggage with us. The hotel is in the same building as the retirement house. We saw couple of old folks in wheelchair in the restaurant. There is a coffee smell in the kettle from the restaurant, so hot water becomes coffee-flavored water. We had to drink bottled water instead. This is not a big deal to us, so we went to the restaurant to ask for hot water instead. The staff in the restaurant was friendly to answer any request from us, so thumbs up to them.

This room comes with free breakfast. Breakfast was good enough for us. The place is quiet and clean. We had a free chocolate in the room when we arrived. The rooms were clean although small. It looked like we are the only guest in the hotel (maybe it was low peak season). The location is fantastic as we do not have to drive around St Gallen. The hotel is within walking distance to the prime places. The hotel gave us free parking for our car.

I wasn’t aware that the hotel is also (in a different area) a retirement home for the elderly. I think I would have still booked if I’d known though. It just took me by surprise and made me wonder if I was in the correct place to begin with.

The hotel is in a great location, has free parking and provides comfortable, clean room for guests. The staff were super-friendly and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay.

The adjoining Kursana old age home might put some people off, but not us - we met some colourful characters!

Particularly helpful reception staff. Travel card enabled a free bus ride to visit Rorschach.

The biggest advantage of the hotel is its location in the city centre. For an overnight stay or a few days, it's a great choice.

Room was so small. Bang shins trying to get past end of beds, no space between beds either. One desk chair is only place to sit.

The only negative is the price. It was quite expensive for one night for what it offers.

The hotel was very nice, clean and quiet, despite being in the city centre. The hotel is attached to an old people residence si it shares the restaurant with them, which was very nice.

Whenever I visit St. Gallen, I stay at Hotel Am Spisertor due to its central location, reasonable price, and quality. Having stayed there more than 10 times over the past 20 years, I can attest that the hotel and its staff have never failed to excel. I will return next time I am in town.

My room looked out on the restaurant which meant people could look in my room. The breakfast was okay but nog very special.

bed was terrible, had a wood box all around it. staff left at 1:30 on saturday . no screens on window , opened to courtyard of a retiremnet home - just so you know . ate breakfast and had a nice chat with some residents . room had poor ventilation and i was so uncomfortable - hot

A bit expensive, but it was expected as in Switcerland. For my taste the pilow was not comfortable at all.
