How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBest views of the Matterhorn possible. Super comfy beds. Big double doors in living room and bedroom that opened to the outside. Nice fridge and fondue cooking pots. Comfortable dining room table to sit at and enjoy the view.
The dryer did not work. The kitchen didn’t have paper towels, salt or pepper. Steep hill to walk up from town.

Verified reviewThe room location is amazing! The owner is kind, and the room has everything you need. I’d love to stay here again!
Climbing the hill with 35kg of luggage including camera gear was really tough.

Verified reviewSpacious 2 bedroom, comfy beds, uninterrupted views, quiet location at far end of town. Communal laundry (3 apartments) easy downhill walk to town. Free (red) bus on the return journey. Manager friendly and easy to contact.
Nothing really, except lounges were a bit worn/collapsing and dining chairs uncomfortable ( 1 broken) but not unliveable.

Verified reviewAmazing apartment on top floor of a building facing the Matterhorn, breathtaking views. Practical 4 bedrooms on 2 floors but only 2 bathrooms (one on each floor). Well equipped kitchen including a Nespresso coffee machine.
We didn’t mind but It’s a short 3min walk on a forest walk (not steep) from the place where the taxi drops you off. You need to carry your wheeler. But it’s more than worth it!

Verified reviewThe best view in Zermatt! A beautiful apartment with a view from the balcony that has to be the best out there! The apartment was very comfortable (especially the beds) and the kitchen was very well equipped. Great walks direct from the door.
Location is on the edge of Zermatt but we used the red line bus successfully (it is very easy to navigate) and the walk from the bus stop up to the apartment is short and easy.

Verified reviewQuiet location. Beautiful view of Matterhorn if not cloudy.
It is a very long walk uphill from bus stop to apartment. The TV did not work. Not a big deal but it did rain and it would have bern nice to watch. They did have NETFLIX but it would not work without code and password. In reading the house guest book I learned that we had to carry our trash out the bins. Not too much to ask except the bin is by the bus stop over a quarter mile away. I found this unacceptable. We paid a pretty penny to stay there. We should not have to carry our trash that far. Other places I have stayed in Switzerland never asked quests to do this. I have traveled the world and have never been asked to do this. The kitchen was new and adequate. Was surprised that there was not a toaster or microwave. No kettle or even a spatula for eggs, etc. I expected more.

Verified reviewWe had a fantastic stay in Alpharmonie. The apartment is beautiful: perfect for a cosy environment in the snow, but also light and airy when the weather is warm. The outstanding feature is the view: it’s stunning. Perfect to look out upon whilst having drinks or food on the balcony. There is a steep hill to into/from town, but it’s short and the bus stop is close, so it didn’t cause any problems.

Verified reviewView from the house is amazing! Kitchen has plenty of everything needed. Beds are comfortable. We stayed in December, house is very warm , and not dry. We rented ski lockers at Dorsaz Sport , next to the glacier paradise gondola. Walking back from gondola to house is about 20 minutes uphill walking. Walking down in the morning is much easier. Red bus stop is about 5-7 minutes walk from house. All worked very well for us without any problems.

Verified reviewApartment has a great layout for a group of friends. Spacious, nice lounging area, well equipped kitchen so it's easy to entertain. The two bathrooms are appropriate for the size as well. The view from the terrace is next level.
I wish I knew how to operate the heating properly!

Verified reviewThe view from the apartment of the Matterhorn was incredible, very clean and comfortable. Good size for 2 people with cooking facilities. The free bus from the train station to the church was useful when we arrived, then it was only 7 minutes walk to the apartment.
Nothing we didn't like. A mirror in the bedroom would've been good.

Verified reviewThe view from the large outdoor patio was the highlight of this apartment. Who doesn't like looking at the Matterhorn while having coffee, wine or eating fondue? Space worked well for 6 of us staying so we could have breakfast and cook our own dinner and all eat together. While the location took a bit more time and energy to get to it was very nice to be away from any hustle and bustle which would result in extra noise. We found the apartment and outdoor patio to be very quiet and relaxing. The bus available at the chapel nearby was very handy and free to ride.
2 bathrooms with 6 adults was a little tough especially because the one bathroom only has a bathtub (no separate shower). We all found the pillows to be a bit difficult to make comfortable and the beds were definitely firm. The fondue pot has a chip in the bottom and appears to need repair/replacement. A few of the dishes/silverware were not clean so we had to wash a few things before using them.
Thanks for your review. We will care immediately about this details what you are writing. Sorry for that.
