Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandWe had no major issues. -The street in front is a busy one, and you can't keep the window open if you have light sleep. -There was no safe in the room. -Room maintenance was not great, there were some small issues with the shower head or the garbage bin.
The room was exactly as in the photos. -Self-check-in was straightforward. The in-house manager Vasiliki was very helpful during my checkin. -The room was clean, but housekeeping comes every 3-4 days, so bear that in mind. -The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but it is well connected by multiple bus and tram lines.

Netherlands- more a warning to others: the coffee from the machine in the room gets really hot, so do not accidentally touch it as it comes out of the machine. - the breakfast is fine, but doesn't change much during the week, so if you are staying for several days, it gets monotonous
The location was absolutely amazing. Easy to get around from by bus or tram. The bus is in front of the hotel while the tram is a short walk. The hotel is right next to a shopping center with two supermarkets and a nice food area. The check-in online was straight-forward and with the room code, you can arrive at any time. Simply follow the signs to get to the room. There is an easy to use combi-oven in the room, a kettle and a coffeemachin, the TV had a nice amount of channels and there are many public facilities you could use if you'd like to.

Netherlandsthe aircon wasn't very adjustable nor noticable, but the temperature was... ok! we were there in a heatwave so understandable that the room wasn't entirely cold.
The property is a little ways outside the city center but very reachable by both bus and tram. A basel card is provided the morning before your stay, so the commute is free anyways. The property was near (or technically part of) a big mall with many options for food, supermarkets, a cinema, etc, but fully inside so no noise or other issues that came from it. The area its in is pretty, there's a creek near the entrance of the hotel that has stairs leading down for a quick dip or just to sit and watch the water. Very enjoyable. The hotel seemed quite empty in the sense that only during the evenings, it came alive with people playing billiards and sitting outside on the lounge chairs. I got the sense a lot of people were there for longer stays, but no issues there whatsoever. The room was clean and had plenty of storage facilities. The kitchen was small but very well equipped in the sense of applications. Cooking and prep amenities were lackluster, but fine for two days. The bathroom was very nice and the japanese floorbed was comfortable. aside from that: thanks for the quick responses from the hotel staff anytime I needed it; there's no reception on-site, but it didn't feel like we were left to our own devices when we had questions.

United KingdomCheck in was a bit difficult - I booked two rooms for my family and had to complete check in separately, which created two separate accounts which I had to switch between, looking for codes and room info. It would have been good to have someone on site to speak to when one of the door codes wasn't working on arrival.
Comfortable clean and modern rooms, at a very reasonable price for a city-centre(ish) hotel in Switzerland. Travelling by tram into and from the centre was easy and straightforward, although we weren't made aware of the Basel pass until we arrived so spent money on day cards which weren't needed.

PolandThe door to the bathroom provided zero privacy and the cleaning could be improved. After somebody dropped a cake in the community area, it was there for another 24h because there is literally no stuff there. It can create a different (and potentially dangerous, too) situation. The electricity in the room is really badly connected, so that you need to stand up from your bed and turn off the lights on the other side of the room every time. It is a small but really annoying element, that is usually well covered in hotels.
A very nice kitchen with all the utensils, nice design and no need to talk to the reception desk, everything is well organised as a self service. Very good parking spots. Shared spaces with desks and a bar and bilard table.

United KingdomThe only reason it’s a 9 is because aircon wasn’t working so I had to open the window in order to have the room less hot. With that comes the occasional street noise and it gets busier in the morning. I was on the 6th floor. I was only there for two nights and was busy with work so I didn’t get a chance to get in touch with the property to see if they can address the issue.
Great location and easy to get around with the transport that’s available. Took about 12-15 mins depending on the bus or tram you take to get to the stop for the convention centre and another 10 min leisurely walk from there. A lovely staff happened to be around to help with getting in the room when I couldn’t work the code. You need a code for the entrance at night as well. I had a Large room which would be plenty for a couple let alone a solo travel. Very clean with a kitchen unit including sink, fridge, microwave oven + an arm chair, sofa, table etc. - all made the stay more comfortable. There were options for breakfast but easy enough to grab breakfast outside. There’s also a couple of restaurants a stone throw away from the property.

NetherlandsWhereas the room was not terribly loud, it was on the first floor on a road that got busy in the morning. But the windows are quite well isolated.
The room was very clean and with good amenities, the self check-in went smooth, although it would be reassuring to have staff in such a large space and would make it more friendly. I came during Art Basel, and it was very easy to go around with Uber to Messe and other central places.

United KingdomNo staff to discuss missing items etc. Bed set up with boxwork all around - not very helpful to 2 60 odd year olds.
Very nice hotel in an area near to Dreilandereck in Basel. We arrived a bit late due to the traffic caused by the major roadworks in the city. We had actually pre booked in so getting into our room was good. Our room was clean and tidy with more shelving than Ikea! The bed was comfortable (once you climbed over the boxwork around it) but was disappointed with only 1 pillow each - I always use 2. We also only had 1 hand towel and no bath towels. I made contact online and was told we would get them brought to us , but they never appeared. Had a good breakfast in the morning but be aware, When booking this hotel with Booking.com, we bookied with breakfast included, but at the hotel you had to use the attachment in the conformation letter to book the breakfast - at 22euros each! I just didnt book it but worked it with the waitress in the morning (showed her our booking confirmation). Overall a tidy basic hotel that served as a stopover on our journey.
