On a noise street, on a Saturday night, you will need the provided earplugs! The open layout of the bathroom is for very well acquainted people. Also the entrance and elevator is direct street access so anyone can access without a key, it felt a bit unsafe, but then again it’s Basel..! 😅

The terrace was a lovely addition, providing a nice spot to relax, even though we did have a minor view obstruction due to a building renovation nearby—something beyond the hotel’s control.

I recently had the pleasure of spending 3 nights in a junior suite with a terrace at the Art House Hotel in Basel, and I'm recommending it. The location is perfect—situated right in the heart of Basel yet in a calm area, allowing for a peaceful retreat after a day of town exploration. Plus, it's just a 2 minute walk from a parking facility, which was very convenient. The room itself was modern, spacious, and very comfortable for two people. We truly enjoyed our time there. The terrace was a lovely addition, providing a nice spot to relax, even though we did have a minor view obstruction due to a building renovation nearby—something beyond the hotel’s control. We also enjoyed the rooftop area, which offered a nice terrace and a very good selection of wine. If you're looking for a well-placed, comfortable hotel in Basel, I highly recommend the junior suite at Art House. It provided everything we needed for a very nice stay.

The only thing that I didn’t appreciate was that the cleaning lady entered the hotel room 10 am twice which was too early. This was a minor thing though and overall this is a great hotel.

Allergy friendly mold free hotel which is key for me with mold allergies. Really lovely helpful staff and perfect location. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Avoid end of the week if noise-avert because of busy bar neighborhood.

I love this place for its location, design, confort and ease of access. Breakfast on the roof is cherry on the cake. Next to art school and old town and nice restaurants and bars!

High quality of all the finishes, very new, every little detail was thought of in terms of comfort and functionality. Loved the peaceful Japanese aesthetic throughout. Luxurious bed and pillows. Very pleasant rooftop bar with unique cocktails.

The only thing that could be an issue, and I did not know of when booking, is the lack of air con as per local environmental legislation. The room in early March felt a bit warm and stuffy and I would prefer a colder room to sleep in. I imagine the room could be baking hot in the summer!

A stylish and comfortable hotel in a central location. Rooms are spacious, stylish and have everything you need. Very comfortable bed, good shower and even a free minibar (mainly soft drinks). Buffet breakfast was exceptional and served in the rooftop bar, which is a great place for a cocktail too. I stayed during the week and it was quiet, although I can imagine at weekends the bars on the street would be loud.

The most wonderful stay! The room was perfect, the bed so comfortable and the free mini bar a real treat! Delicious breakfast and so nice to have the rooftop terrace for eatingvin the sun and enjoying cocktails at night. Staff couldn't have been warmer. Thank you!
