The walk from Parking lot 1 is a little far through the cobblestone street to get to the apartment.

We had a great stay. Chantal is an excellent host. The local restaurant next door is very good. We had dinner there 2 nights.

Location was excellent. Chantal ( owner) took personal care of everything and spoke very good English which was very important and rare for almost all the French speakers we met. We are tri-lingual, but not in french.

Low ceilings at the door so watch your head. But that was life in the 1300 when I understood it was built!

It is a pedestrian town which means you have to drag your luggage over cobblestone streets. However, that was not the properties fault.

Chantal was very welcoming! She explained everything well and gave us some great suggestions for restaurants. The room was cozy and was exactly what I expected of a small Swiss hotel.

The location is peaceful and beautiful, right next to the H. R. Giger museum and in the heart of the old village of Gruyeres. The accommodation is very spacious for two people to live very comfortably and the kitchenette was well equipped with everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner.

Chantal was such an exceptional hostess and made us feel right at home. When we arrived, we realized that we were early for check-in and sent her a message and she graciously immediately sent us direction for a self check-in. The location is amazing. We stayed in the Balcony room with the mountain view and it was gorgeous outside of our window. The room was lovely and clean. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at Au Soleil!

The accommodation was perfect for our needs.

A lovely little room, perfect position in the town making all amenities easily accessible. A fabulous shower and comfortable bed with a kettle and tea and coffee to hand.

We had the best stay at Au soleil de Gruyères, really couldn’t have asked for more - thank you Chantal! We had everything we needed, and even came home to extra teabags resting on the door handle one day. Thank you for the recommendations on where to eat out, we had a lovely (delightfully cheesy) dinner at the Auberge and watched the owner joyfully feeding the birds bread which was beautiful to watch! We are hoping to come back someday ❤️

This is a charming place to stay right in the heart of Gruyeres. Chantal is a very welcoming and helpful host and the room was clean, comfortable, well-equipped and had lots of character. The location is perfect and it was a good base for hiking in the area. Highly recommended.

I had a lovely 3 night stay and found the room to be clean and comfortable. The view was incredible and considering it is right in the middle of the old village it was extremely quiet. I loved how the property had been renovated in a way that kept a lot of the old features, giving it a real charm. Chantal was very friendly and helpful, making checking in and out very simple.

The wifi was spotty which was not a big deal. Be prepared the place is small, especially the bathroom but this was not a problem either because everything else was so great. The size of the space almost just added to the quaint atmosphere

Location was absolutely amazing and Chantel was great. She was very responsive to our messages and gave good directions regarding how to access her place. She even let us in early to give us the tour and show us around.

It was very centrally located near the castle, shops and restaurants. The room was cozy and charming. Chantal was a great host. She payed special attention to details and made us feel right at home.

The curtains are very thin so if you're light sensitve you won't be able to sleep in much.

We loved everything about our room! It was small, but so beautiful and had everything we needed. Right in the heart of the old town of Gruyères, and still very peaceful inside. Chantal was amazing and checking in and out was a breeze. The bed was big and comfortable, there was a coffee machine, toaster, and a great bathroom. Parking nearby was also easy and not too expensive.
