Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandThe staff were very friendly. Food very good and portions very generous. No problem to accommodate dietary preferences . Also very accommodating to your needs - we had to leave early and they prepared breakfast earlier than usual for us. Room spacious, very clean, beds very comfortable. Located next to the train station if you want to explore area by train - nice ride ( we took the train to Chateau d’oex). They are also dog friendly - we took our dog who was also very much welcomed.

DenmarkThere was a meeting that night, and a little bit noisy til around 00:00, and I was exhausted and couldn’t sleep til 00:00. but the owner compensated it with free breakfast. I like when they care about their customers.
It had a beautiful view of the mountains. The room was very clean. The food was incredibly delicious. The room also smelled of lavender and wood, which I love.

A wonderful place to stay only a few minutes drive from Gruyères. The staff members were most friendly and accommodating. We had dinner there and the food was not only outstanding but plentiful. A lovely continental breakfast. Great quality and great value. Situated off the beaten path in the Swiss countryside, we were in Swiss heaven.

United StatesNo air conditioning. On a Friday night, the restaurant/bar outside was very noisy until after 11:00pm.
Absolutely a fabulous stay!!! Located in an out-of-the way little town, this charming place was a great find. The owner/proprietor/manager was so very nice, friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The room is typical for what we have discovered in Europe - fairly small with no air conditioning. Shower had great water pressure and we opened the windows to let the night air in. During the heat of the summer it may be too hot without a/c but it was very comfortable during the time we were there. The restaurant attached to the facility served fantastic food at a very reasonable price. Definitely a wonderful stay!!!

JapanIt’s great location for a few nights those who do a road trip. We spent a night with a 3 year old toddler and a pug dog, driving from Bern. The room was comfy with a nice view from the window. It was very calm and the eventual sound of the train or the church bells only added to the charm.

SwitzerlandI was happy with everything.
This Hotel L'Ange is an absolute gem: The location is a small village/town in the Gruyère area, famous for its cheeses, cream, mountains and friendly folk! The hotel is simple, the house is decked out in timber entirely, each room has a different theme and is decorated accordingly. Mine was The Angels ;). The bed was very comfortable, the room quiet. You might hear the church bells in the morning. Anything you need in the room, just ask the members of the happy family running the place, they are truly eager to help you out. The restaurant downstairs caters for local meals, please try their Röschti. I took it with mushrooms as it is season now. Every produce used is local, healthy and frankly very tasty. I thank the team, especially mother for her excellent cooking and the boys for their dedicated service to us clients. Breakfast: hot tasty croissants, butter, homemade jam. Nothing is lacking. You need more? Ask for it and you shall be given. A truly great place, everything seems to be easy here. I will definitely come back. Tank you all for looking after us. This is home away from home. Your kindness and generosity has no par.

United KingdomThe Auberge is unstaffed on Wednesday and Sunday evenings, when the restaurant is closed. I arrived on a Sunday and had to message them to get details of how to access the keys. I did get a fairly quick response and it was easy to get in, so not really a problem. There's a beautiful church adjacent, but it has some loud bells. The guest room windows have double glazing which deaden the sound very effectively, but if you leave the window open for some fresh air then you might get woken early.
A beautiful location in a small and picturesque village, the Auberge is conveniently placed adjacent to the tpf narrow-gauge railway station, which has regular trains to Bulle and Montbovon. My room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. I also enjoyed a tasty evening meal and some local artisan beer. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices very reasonable for both accommodation and food. I'd recommend it and would stay there again myself.
