How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewEverything was perfect! We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel – the central location, friendly and welcoming owner (he even allowed us to check in earlier), beautiful rooms with the cinema theme. Another great advantage is that you can get the Ticino Ticket when staying here, which gives a lot of perks. We’d definitely stay here again! Highly recommended!

Verified reviewWe were knackered after a long journey, so we were very happy to have a very comfortable bed. The room was fine, a basic hotel room. We enjoyed the balcony and were happy to find a minifridge. The location is great. One of the bathrooms doesn’t lock, but the other one does so we used that one. It was clean.
There was a lot of noise in the hallway by night. This isn’t Rooms AI’s fault, but it’s good to know that the rooms are not very sound proof.

Verified reviewGreat location - Close proximity to the piazza, 15 min walk to the train station, 10 min walk to the lido/pool and 1 min stroll to the lake front. The host provided an extra bed for one of the kids very promptly and was very friendy and accommodating throughout our stay.
Our room did not have a/c, not a problem just a little bit sweaty :)

Verified reviewThe location was quite good, the place is very clean. It has a nice idea of naming rooms after film directors - nice concept. The room had a nice balcony to sit in the evening.
The room poorly equipped. For a large number of rooms, there are just two bathrooms/toilets. The shower cabin was so tiny that even a very slim person can hardly move around - it is hardly imaginable that a larger / slightly overweight person could fit into such a tiny shower cabin.

Would love directions from the train station to come with the base instructions for checking in. We got the information from the host who was very helpful.

Verified reviewWe liked everything. We stayed at the end of April and our vacation exceeded our expectations thanks to the hospitality of Granit and his mother. The location of the hotel is great, 10 minutes to the train station and 5 minutes to the boat stop. Everything is very convenient. The room was bright, spacious, as in the photo. It was nice to walk by foot on the wooden floor. The toilet and shower are separate, but there was a number and neat. The beds are comfortable. There is a large balcony for several rooms. The whole apartment is clean, neat, with a soul. And we are especially grateful to Granit for the Ticino Ticket. It made our vacation very eventful. This ticket is valid froml day of your check-in and until the end of the day of check-out. It gives the opportunity to use ALL PUBLIC TRANSPORT in the Techino region for free (any buses, trains, and even 1 circular route on a boat on Lake Maggiore). This ticket also gives a 20% discount on cable cars (including in Lugano) and the thermal spa on the lake. Asked about tips of this ticket in Information office on train station Locarno.
We didn't have enough days, there are so many beautiful mountain villages where you can go for free with the Ticino Ticket. We want to come back! Also keep in mind that there is no kitchen. For us it is not a problem, there is a kettle and a mini-fridge in the room. So you know

Verified reviewThe entire B&B had a charming cinema theme, carried through from the toilets and hallways to, of course, the rooms. Each room was named after a famous director, which I thought was a fun and creative touch—I absolutely loved it! Cleanliness was truly top-notch; they vacuumed and mopped the hallways and bathrooms every day. The location was also very convenient, with a bus stop nearby and the Piazza Grande just a 4-minute walk away. Overall, an excellent stay! When I booked the property, I mentioned that we were travelling to celebrate our anniversary. The owners were incredibly thoughtful—they left a bottle of Chardonnay in our room along with a sweet little note. We found it when we returned to the room that day, and it truly made our stay feel extra special.
The room had two single beds pushed together to make one, but they tended to slide apart, which was a bit uncomfortable. It would have been nicer to have one solid double bed. That said, everything else was absolutely perfect—no other complaints at all!
