We appreciated the very thoughtful amenities in the room as well as the transportation to and from the bus station. Location was central. Would love to stay at this hotel again. Meeting an Olympic champion, Max Julen, was a bonus!

Amazing views, lovely balcony and perfect location for exploring, close to great restaurants, very nice cafe next door. Wellness suite modern and perfect after day hiking. Good selections for breakfast. Complimentary bath robes and slippers.

United KingdomWe really liked this hotel. Staff were friendly and informative. Room was really comfortable and breakfast was good. Free shuttle to train station was helpful when it rained (although the walk is nice when it's not raining). Hotels can seem expensive in Zermatt, but if you are going to pay a bit more then we would recommend this hotel. And it's nice to meet an Olympic champion!

United StatesWe had a little trouble with fellow guests. Several men gathered in the lobby to drink and play cards. The first night we entered the hotel and they made their remarks and drunken comments was haha funny. The next time they were down there they proceed to get up and surround us as we entered and began grabbing at my wife. They caused an unnecessary situation and because at that time of night there is no one from the hotel on duty, there is no one to check their behavior. It seemed to me they were local men with a common gathering place. Yet the hotel staff when asked said they were guests. Either way had there been someone from the hotel in the lobby they could have helped control the situation.
The location of this hotel as perfect. The room was comfortable a quiet as long as the window was closed. Breakfast had a good variety to choose from. And dinner in the restaurant was the best we have during out stay.

United StatesThe spa is only open 4:30-7:30pm, so even on a rest day from skiing, it can't be accessed throughout the day. The cleaning staff sometimes just walked into my room, once with a light knock that I didn't hear, and once without knocking. The shower in my room was pretty small--I was in a single room; it was fine for me but larger folks would have some difficulty. These were minor issues.
The location is perfect--right on the river, great views, and convenient. One of the two most iconic views of the Matterhorn from town is right out the front door. Right out the door are bus stops going in either direction to get to the end of the valley you want to ski--It's actually not a long walk in either direction to the Paradise lifts on one direction or the Sunnegga lifts in the other. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. The spa area is small but nice with hot tub, steam room, sauna, lounging area, and neat wash area. There is a ski/boot room. The rooms all have balconies and half face the Matterhorn, and the other half face down valley--both are excellent views. There are a large variety of restaurants and shopping right out the door in either direction. The hotel is a few steps down the street from the iconic old church and cemetery. The hotel is right on the walking mall--the main part being a minute away. The staff were very friendly. Max Julen, the 1984 Swiss Olympic ski champion owns the hotel and the restaurant, and he and his son primarily run the hotel with the help of a wonderfully supportive and multi-lingual staff. The walls are thick--I didn't hear any noise from other people above, below, or beside my room. There is a complimentary shuttle service; Max himself drove me to the train when I departed. The rooms and the entire hotel were updated, clean, and everything worked well. The hot water in the shower was instant. This hotel does not offer spa treatments--I went to Schloss Sport Hotel for that.
