Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis place was absolutely brilliant! We had a large double bed that was very comfortable. We had a gorgeous view on the front of the property over looking the church & mountains. The sound proof windows were exceptional, meaning we heard nothing from the street or church bells, enabling a fantastic nights sleep. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and functional, with a toilet that had many features too! The waterfall shower enabled us to start our day fresh. The restaurant downstairs offered brilliant drinks and meals, adding to the convenience of our stay. The parking round the back was also great to have. A great stay and only gutted we didn’t stay longer! We will be back!

IsraelThere is a church across the street with bells that ring early in the morning, which can be disturbing. Parking spots are very limited compared to the number of rooms, and in the evening there’s often no space available. It’s a pity that breakfast is not included in the price.
The room was huge and spacious, with a kitchen and even a large bathtub. There’s a nice playroom for kids, a short drive to Lucerne, and a supermarket right under the hotel. Although there’s no one at the reception, phone availability is excellent.

United KingdomAll is done through the mobile from booking to checking in to checking out. It was efficient, it is a very modern hotel, on our arrival we had a problem with not having enough beds, we had to ring for assistance as no one was at the hotel but we got extra bedrooms for all our family to have their own beds. The lady on the phone was very helpful and friendly. We had a superior bedroom with kitchen and 2 of our other children had their own rooms. Some rooms come with balcony. Each bedroom have got their own bathroom fully equipped ( the modern toilet with remote control was a big hit), each room has got a coffee machine, slippers offered and dressing gown. I would recommend Berg&Berg hotel and use it again in the future. Available breakfast downstairs, restaurant and baby play area with nanny to look after your children. Sounds unbelievable? But yes this is all offered.

United KingdomOur room wasn't quite equipped for 4 people (only 3 dining chairs, only 3 coffee cups etc.). Admittedly we didn't raise this though as we were only there for 2 nights so they may have rectified this if we had.
Lovely comfortable rooms. Excellent quality facilities. A little luxury. In a nice village with a shop right next door and a restaurant/bar attached. Games room was enjoyed by the kids. A few complimentary tokens were recieved which was a nice bonus.

United KingdomNothing major really… Parking at the hotel is limited. Sometimes we struggled to find space when we returned at the end of the day. However there is a public car park right next to the hotel for “max 3 hours a day”, but no payment machine and none seemed to be checking so we parked there overnight on a few occasions. Other small things like door card not working or empty shower gel/shampoo dispenser, but we use own products anyway. Fancy coffee machine but not enough coffee pods (unless you request daily clean, but we didn’t want to bother the cleaning lady). Couldn’t get same pods from the local Coop or even large Migros in Lucerne, until we found a solution by using Coop own brand 44mm coffee pods in a used, empty aluminium pod shell. It worked perfectly fine.
Lovely, modern apartment in a newly refurbished building in the middle of a quiet village. Quality furniture and a huge comfortable bed. Slept very well from day one which is rare. High standard overall. Two balconies in our apartment. Coop next door which was very convenient. Check in efficient, although it didn’t feel this way initially, until I realised that I needed to check in online via link from email received straight after booking. You can open door using your phone or physical card (didn’t work for some reason). Would definitely go back.

A really great start to our 3-week trip around France and Italy. The hotel was immaculate, the apartment was modern and impressively clean, and we loved the restaurant downstairs — excellent food and a relaxed atmosphere.

DenmarkNot a negative feedback just a remark - I feel like a "standard suite" has more value than "Superiore suite" despite its location on the lower floor.
Definitely a great value for money for Swiss standards. Nice welcome package with toiletries. Two rooms apartment with creative bathroom facilities in the sleeping room (shower + egg-bathtub). Great space for relaxing after a busy day. Helpful staff, that was very fast to react, despite the fact that customer service is only available via phone.

HungaryThe check in (and check out too) was problematic: the self check in didn't work in our case. It didn't accept our booking number, so we had to call someone (with roaming) to help check us in. The whole procedure was time-consuming and costly. The self check in would be a great and convenient idea if it worked in practise more easily.
The apartment was very modern and comfortable. We really enjoyed the playroom. The bathroom had everything we needed, we really liked the Japanese toilet. The view to the church in front of the hotel was nice,

In the room we have everything is necessary for cooking and serving dinner or breakfast. The restaurant from the hotel is making a very good pizza. :))
