No shower inside, you have to walk to the main building to access the showers. This was really inconvenient especially that it was rainy when I was there. Cable car is only open between 8 AM to 17:30, so you have to schedule really well.

The bedroom was awesome, the design felt a little bohemian and lucky to have the whole place with just another person. The views were magnificent. Spacious, bed was soft, warm. <3 The staff were very nice and food was awesome

Great location, which as a guest you can enjoy First basically alone after 6 pm and before 8:30 in the morning. That is a very special experience

There's only one negative and that's that the last cable car leaves Grindelwald at 5:30pm. So if you're in the valley, you need to finish up everything before then to return to First.

Phenomenonal location, great food, friendly staff. It's a perfect place to base your hikes from, too. Everyone visiting Grindelwald should spend at least one night here!

I understand the cable car isn't included and is paid separately, but perhaps a free ride back to the bottom after the stay would be a nice bonus. You weren't able to purchase a round trip ticket and split it over multiple days, so two one-way tickets were required.

The location and scenery were amazing. It was so cool that the last cable car left at 6pm and the rest of the place was essentially private for only the people staying. The fixed price dinner was excellent. The bar stayed open until 11pm! And, we enjoyed a private Cliff Walk with just our family.

Should at least give those booked the hotel had option to buy 2 days cable car pass, really not worth just to paid the one way cable car pass the next day after check out from hotel

The hotel was situated at Final cable car station of Grindelward- First Top of Adventure, is a more like a sky resort in the winter, no snow on top during summer 😂，I got confused with the photo of snow peak. However, I love the view and able to enjoy the mountain by ourselves after 6 pm when the cable car closed

This was the most expensive overnight stay during our entire vacation spent in Switzerland (July 2025). However one shouldn’t expect the budget vacation if choosing Swiss Alps, but let’s be frank: this was a standard of a mountain hut with common bathroom. Of course, the location makes the price but I think 20% less would be still decent for the owner and more adequate. This is the only reason I rate 9/10 not 10/10 as aparat from the price all was perfect!

Very friendly staff. Very clean. Decent breakfast and a very reasonable price for a tasty 3-course dinner at the evening served for guests only. View from the terasse and the restaurant is so gorgeous! When the cable car stops operating you can quietly enjoy surrounding mountains, be alone on the Cliff Walk and you have the sunset for yourself. The walk to the Bachalpsee without the daily crowds is also nice experience (however if you want to take similar photo as in all postcards and instagram blogs, go there early in the morning, not late afternoon - the light will make better job). The place is not possible to reach by car, but this is of course an advantage! We recommend also on the way back not going to Grindelwald simply by the cable car but to follow an easy path to Grosse Scheidegg. Ca. 2 hrs easy walk with splendid views and from there one can take a bus to the village.

The fact that you have to pay to go up and down the mountain. This fee should be included in the price of staying at the hotel. Basically after 5:30 you need to remain up at the top of the mountain and you’re limited on choices of what to eat and do after hours.

Beautiful location. Well worth spending the nights here to enjoy without the crowds. Staff really look after you and made me feel very welcome as a solo traveller. Also we’re making sure I returned from my hikes safely which was much appreciated.

Showers on the lower level of the building away from dormitories.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The dormitory had a spacious lounge area outside the rooms, good for relaxing. Showers and more toilets on the same level would have been helpful.
