Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TaiwanSince we stayed in two twin rooms on the basement level, there was only one bathroom. However, from time to time other guests came to use the same bathroom. Because they didn’t say anything beforehand, we were a bit startled and found it rather strange that guests from other floors were using it.
The host is very friendly, there is free parking available, and the breakfast is plentiful. We used the kitchen to cook dinner, and it was great to have one available. However, the kitchen felt quite old and a bit messy/unclean.

Nice room in bottom of house with 2 other rooms used by other guests and shared bathroom. All facilities were clean and practical. Breakfast was quite sufficient though rather regimented. Great location within walking distance of station, restaurants and the chateau.

CanadaThis BnB offered great value for the money. The owner was friendly and helpful. My room was basic, clean, and comfortable with a single bed. Shades could be lowered over the windows, making it very dark for sleeping. And it was very quiet. I had my own separate entrance to the house. The shared bathroom was clean. The breakfast was wonderful - it included yogurt, cereal, croissant, buns, cheese, meat, coffee, orange juice. It was nice to have an opportunity to meet with other guests at breakfast who were also walking the via Francigena. I highly recommend this BnB for budget travellers.

United StatesLovely cottage with a little vineyard on property. Good breakfast. I was nervous about needing to share a bathroom, but there were two bathrooms and one was very convenient to my room. Great location, close to train station and center of town.

United KingdomNothing! I couldn't fault them. It was a lovely, homely experience, and the owners are very kind!
I absolutely loved this B&B. The owners are super friendly and kind, they helped me with a charger when mine wouldn't work. They work during the day, so you need to give them an indication of when you will arrive, so that they can be there to wait for you to check you in. You are essentially staying downstairs in the owners' home - exactly as a B&B should be! The room is clean and well maintained. Outside the room, in the communal area, you have a microwave, fridge, and plates/cutlery. I was walking the Via Francigena and grateful for all of these amenities! The bathroom was clean and well kept. The breakfast was lovely - yoghurts, fresh bread and croissants, hot drinks, cereals. Again, exactly what you need before a long day of hiking! And you are only a 10 minute walk from the town centre (which has supermarkets, restaurants etc) and the castle (which houses a wine museum). Overall for the price this was excellent value for money as it has everything you need, in a lovely setting and with kind owners.

ItalyThe B&B was really clean. Rooms are half under the level of the ground but fresh and very cosy and quiet location not far from the castle. Owner very kind and the girl at breakfast time too. Maybe the best along my Via Francigena trekking till now.

NetherlandsConsidering the price there is not much to complain about. Maybe a comfortable chair in the room, and a nice sitting area outside for guests on hot summer days.
I was received very kindly by the host. I had missed a train and called to say that I would be a little late and that was no problem. The room is very simple, but it is sufficient for 1 night in transit. There were other guests but that did not pose a problem for using the shared bathroom/toilet. It was nice that there was a refrigerator available in the central area. The breakfast was good and more than sufficient.

United KingdomThere was a mix-up about my arrival time which meant I had two wait two hours for someone to let me in to leave my bag. (We had prearranged this but there was either a miscommunication or it was forgotten) Only one bathroom between three rooms is a bit busy!
The staff were very friendly and made a special effort for a gluten-free breakfast. Fridge and kettle available.
