Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaNow, after such glowing praise, you might wonder if I'm biased or paid by the host! So, I feel it's important to mention one small downside we experienced. Since there was no washing machine in the apartment, we inquired about nearby laundry facilities. Arlette offered to wash our clothes herself, quoting 4.50 CHF for a tub full of laundry. We carefully filled the tub with only the clothes that would fit. However, upon their return, we were charged 22.50 CHF, a significant increase that we didn't understand. When I asked for clarification, her response was simply, "No, the wash is 22.50." While this felt a bit unprofessional and left a slightly sour taste, it was a minor point in an otherwise overwhelmingly positive experience.
Zermatt truly is a slice of heaven on Earth, and our recent three-night stay in mid-June at Arlette’s apartment only amplified the magic. This beautiful home provided an exceptional base for our family adventure. The apartment boasts a long terrace with breathtaking views of the valley, and when you look up, the majestic Alpine mountains dominate the skyline. Its location is incredibly convenient, just a 10-minute walk from the train terminal. Even the approach, through a unique man-made cave, adds an element of fun to your arrival! Inside, the apartment features two bedrooms and one bathroom. What truly sets it apart from many other rental properties is its "lived-in" charm and thoughtful amenities. Unlike sparse rentals, this apartment is well-equipped with useful items, toys, and a kitchen brimming with utensils, cups, and glasses. We were delighted to find essential basics like salt, pepper, and oil, which saved us a trip to the store. The bathroom was similarly stocked with shampoo, soaps, and other toiletries. It's clear that the owners use this apartment themselves for part of the year, which creates a genuine "home-away-from-home" feel in every corner. Beyond the apartment itself, Arlette, our host, is an absolute sweetheart! From our very first communication after booking, she was polite, helpful, and incredibly welcoming. We were fortunate enough to meet her in person during check-in, and she generously shared practical tips about the valley and offered guidance on local attractions.

PhilippinesThere were too many instructions, especially in taking care of the trash and leaving the place clean when you check-out.
The place was clean, complete with cooking facility (although we did not cook much). We even had a welcome wine and some chocolates. And the place has a good view of the Alps.

United StatesI was very happy with this apartment. Great location, less than 10 minutes to the station. Clean and spacious. Kitchen was well equipped and efficient with plenty of dishes, pans etc. There was a table and chairs on the balcony, so I got dinner outside. Large, comfortable bed to get rest and charged. I highly recommend this place.

United StatesNothing. It was perfect.
It is a bit up the hill, which provides fantastic views of Zermatt, but not too far that it taxes your legs. It was spotless and comfortable for four of us. I will definitely return if I come back to Zermatt. Also, Arlette is an attentive and interesting host who has great stories.

United StatesI cannot think of anything that could have been improved. The shower was excellent.
It is a very nice apartment with all necessary facilities, including a microwave. Washing machines and dryers are available in the building for a reasonable cost. The location is perfect: around 1000 ft from the Zermatt train station. If you don’t have too much luggage you can just walk there. You will have to go up around 80 ft. The owners were very cordial and helpful, great people

United KingdomThe only thing was the linen and pillows. The pillows were rather lumpy and base sheet a bit strange. Saying that the beds were very comfortable. No double bed though, all singles, I did notice one was a pull out where my son slept. That was not a problem for us but new cotton sheets would be nice.
Location was brilliant. Apartment was bright and clean. Very comfortable. All the facilities you would need are there. For a short ski break it couldn’t have been better.

SingaporeAs there is a slope up the way from train station to the apartment, it is better to take an electric taxi to the apartment if you are carrying big luggages. Thicker pillows would be preferred by us. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful stay.
A highly recommended apartment! It is close to the train station, supermarkets and restaurants within 5 to 10min walk. It has amazing view of mountain and at night, it was even more charming with the snow-covered and twinkling light of surrounding houses. It had everything we needed; comfortable sofa and beds, stove, oven and utensils for cooking, fridge and etc. The host was very attentive, giving clear direction and useful information for us to reach the apartment. She responded to our queries and requests promptly. And even sent her daughter to assist us when we had trouble operating the stove. They even provided free chocolates, bottled water and wine.

United StatesAfter a two week work trip this apartment was the perfect way to relax before my long travels back to Florida. The host was wonderful and made me feel like I was at home. The key was easy to find even though I came in late and in the dark. The apartment was clean and had all the amenities needed to cook. There was even wine, water and chocolate waiting upon arrival. Thank you to the host. I will be coming back to stay here again and will be bringing my family.

GermanyEverything was great. The only minute thing was that one has to pay small amount (like 30-40 cents per pod) for coffee pods. This was no issue as such for us but this can be a small annoyance for someone and maybe can be improved in future somehow like keeping a few coffee pods included in the price and then charging some amount in case someone wants extra pods. Just a minor suggestion.
We absolutely loved our stay here and had a very relaxing time. The property is a short (approx 10 mins) uphill walk from the Zermatt station. To get to your apartment, first you need to get the keys from a lockbox and then there is a long tunnel (this feels quite theatrical which is kinda fun) and a couple of elevators. It can be slightly tricky the first time but Arlette (the host) had given very accurate instructions to make it easy. The apartment itself is very cozy, was kept very clean and well-organized. There were some swiss chocolates and a bottle of wine kept for us which was a delightful surprise. The kitchen was well-equipped and had basic stuff such as oil, some spices, salt, pepper, etc. Arlette is very helpful in case you have some issues. I had forgotten the swiss adapter for electric sockets and couldn't charge my laptop, but Arlette lent me a couple of them which was very nice indeed! Overall we enjoyed it a lot and would love staying here again the next time as well :)
