Did not like anything about this experience.

Did not like how rude they were!

    Property response:

We want to clarify a few important points regarding your stay: you arrived 1.5 hours after our official check-in time without prior notice. Our opening hours are clearly communicated, and we expect all guests to respect them. It was disappointing that you arrived late and then expressed frustration instead of understanding, event thouth you see our opening hours three times when making the booking. Additionally, refusing to pay the legally required visitor’s tax is not acceptable. This is a standard fee in Switzerland, and we cannot waive it. Regarding our location: we are indeed on the outskirts of Interlaken, which is clearly stated on our website and all booking platforms. We are surrounded by nature, offering a peaceful atmosphere, not in the center of lively Interlaken. This is also why our prices are lower than those of hotels or hostels in town. We always treat our guests with kindness and respect, and we expect the same in return. Respect goes both ways which was never given from you.

Thank you to the lazy rancho for hosting us during our time in switzerland. We had a great time there and found the campsite to be conveniently located, clean and felt secure. Pros - Felt safe as the door locked and felt solid. - Clean bedding situation - Access to lots of ammenities and facilities close by - Included bus passes in the local interlaken area. - Accomodating of late check in

Cons - Lack of fan for ventilation in the cabin room - Early closure of communal kitchen - Rude interaction with a staff member as we were unaware of the campsite quiet hours and were washing dishes, which we were not informed about at check in.

    Property response:

Thank you so much for your detailed review and for choosing Camping Lazy Rancho during your stay in Switzerland! We’re very glad to hear that you appreciated our convenient location, cleanliness, safe and solid cabins, as well as the included bus passes. It’s always great to know that these key points helped make your stay enjoyable! Regarding your feedback on the cons: The deluxe igloo does have a integrated ventilation system and we always suggest to leave the door and window open before going to bed. Upon request we do have a fan that can be borrowed at reception. As for the early closure of the communal kitchen: in Switzerland, there is a strict night silence law, which is why we close all shared facilities except for the showers and toilet block near the reception and shop. One of our staff members was informed by another guest that dishes were being washed after 22:00 – which is strictly prohibited and also clearly marked on the campsite map you received at check-in. We kindly ask all our guests not to wash dishes after 22:00 and before 7:00 to respect this law and the quiet of fellow campers – thank you very much for understanding. We truly value your feedback as it helps us maintain the clean, secure and peaceful atmosphere that many of our guests come to Lazy Rancho for. We hope to welcome you back again and wish you many more wonderful travels!

    Really clean. Good location

    No outside light.

    Property response:

Thank you very much for your review! We're happy to hear you enjoyed the cleanliness and our location. Most campers bring their own torches, but we appreciate your feedback about the outside lighting and will definitely keep it in mind. We hope to welcome you again soon!

It was beautiful stay in our entire trip, staff are highly professional and friendly

    The mountain view

    Property response:

Thank you so much for your kind words about your stay and our team – we’re very happy to hear you felt well taken care of! We’re a bit surprised, however, that you didn’t enjoy the mountain view. Many of our guests tell us how much they love the idyllic panorama of the surrounding peaks – it’s something we’re quite proud of. Still, we appreciate your honest feedback and hope you had a great overall experience with us.

We liked the ranch so much . When you get off the iglu you can see the snowy mountains and is quieter place to stay.

Reaching the bus stop is little distance as we are traveling with our kids they don't want to walk

    Property response:

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback – we’re really glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at the ranch and the peaceful atmosphere with the snowy mountain views! We understand that walking with kids can sometimes feel a bit longer. Most of the nearby bus stops are actually reachable within 5 to 10 minutes, depending on your walking pace. We hope this didn’t take away too much from your overall experience and would love to welcome you back in the future!

    Property response:

Thank you for your feedback. We're always grateful when guests take the time to share their experience, even when it's not entirely positive. At the same time, we were quite surprised to read such a negative review—especially as you mentioned multiple times during your stay how much you loved the place and even called it paradise. We’d like to take a moment to clarify a few points: First and foremost, Camping Lazy Rancho is a campsite, not a hotel. Our wooden igloos offer a unique and cozy way to enjoy nature, but they are part of an outdoor experience and not insulated to the same extent as hotel rooms. Temperatures in Switzerland can fluctuate, and while we do provide heaters and were happy to give you extra blankets, we understand that it might still feel cool at times—this is part of the charm (and reality) of camping in nature. Regarding the internet, we are aware that coverage can be patchy in some areas of the site. This is why we inform all guests at check-in that the best signal is available in the recreation room, where you’re welcome to work, relax, or stream. As for the lighting at night, many of our guests bring torches or headlamps for the short walk to the facilities, as is typical when camping. Still, we take such comments seriously and will look into any areas that may need additional attention. Our colorful bed sheets are part of our identity—we’re not a hotel and don’t aim to be one. We like to stand out with a cozy and friendly style that reflects the camping lifestyle. We also don't advertise shampoo, shower gel, hairdryers, slippers, or irons in our igloos. However: Hairdryers are available in the shared washrooms, and additional ones can be borrowed at reception. Irons can also be borrowed at reception for a deposit. Tea and coffee powder are provided in the igloo. Milk can be bought in our shop. Slippers are not part of our offering, as is common in most camping environments. Our light timers in the WC are part of our commitment to being an eco-conscious campsite. Saving energy is an important part of our mission to care for the environment. Regarding the mirror—our decision not to include one in the igloo is intentional and based on both design and feng shui principles. However, our washrooms are fully equipped with mirrors. All these aspects are clearly described in the room details before booking, and we never advertise the igloos as hotel-standard accommodation. They’re designed to offer a unique and nature-close experience with simplicity and charm. Given your preferences, it’s possible that a hotel in Interlaken might be better suited to meet your expectations next time. Still, we do appreciate your visit and the time you took to share your thoughts, and we wish you all the best for your future travels. Warm regards, The Lazy Rancho Team
